Be sure to miss the Pearl Harbour hidden object game, it's quite bad in terms of presentation.

So I suppose there's nowhere to get it besides... there? I've hated Big Fish Games with a burning passion ever since they changed a perfectly good system to one where you have to download a stupid program to 'organize your games' and then load it every time you want to play anything, which takes almost a minute, then, EVEN IF YOU BUY THE GAME, when you close the game it pops up an ad for MORE STUPID GAMES THAT I DON'T CARE ABOUT.

And yet, I'm downloading the stupid game because I'm addicted to Mystery Case Files. And I'm probably going to buy it, because I have three game club serials left over from before they ruined their games. :/

No, the game is not available any place else since it was developed by Big Fish Games, and they will keep it exclusive for a while.

I know you're not the only one that does not like the BFG game loader, but I've grown to not mind it at all. I just use the desktop shortcuts to get to the game(s) I'm currently playing.

For some, however, the automatic loader is a godsend as it does simplify the downloading, installation and organization of all those game files.

Still, some would argue that it would be nice to be able to choose whether to use it. And I think you may see that someday.

I now jay doesn't like to see critics like this, and beeing his side he can do whatever he wants. But I learned to know jayisgames for its tendency to look on originality of web games. Now this is the 100ooo... item search game, it became boring. Yes I know you will say, just because I find them boring others like them. Yes.

But a honest question would you also sport so many games of the nearly same kind, if there weren't selling admissions involved?

I wanted to write another one of mine "man, aren't you all quite sick already of darn hidden object games" comments but I think this one will actually include some positive feedback.

As much as I hate HOGs, Mystery Case Files at least hold some standards. Games from this series don't look like a 12-year old pulled an all-nighter and went medieval with Photoshopping items from stock photographs into bland AutoCAD backgrounds. I don't know about you, but when I check out the demo for a new HOG - mostly because my GF likes them - and I see those blurry foreground objects and amateurish resolution mashing it makes my eyes want to jump out of my head. MCF's high production values should be appreciated when compared to those horrors, and I must say I will at least check out the demo for this game.

As for the Big Fish game system, yeah, I hate it too. I want to pay, download and be done with it, not use ridicilous "organizing" proxy programs and read ads for more games. It's rude, unnecessary and should be nuked from orbit as soon as possible.

fuzzygrid - as baba has said, the mystery case files games are popular because they are well-produced and offer a compelling casual gameplay experience. Madame Fate is no different in that regard.

In fact, it is arguably the most refined game of the series so far. And perhaps the most difficult.

If we ignored popular games simply because there are other games available like them, there would be sometimes weeks between posts and visitors would find a new site to satisfy their needs.

It's a tough position to be in to have to please everyone, because with every post we fail to achieve that goal. If this isn't a game for you, move along please, and let those who do enjoy them have their fun.

I am not a regular casual gamer at all, but I recently grabbed MCF:Ravenhearst when Big Fish had it very cheap. I got so sucked into that game, and really enjoyed it. I shocked myself really! I would prob not pay full price for a hidden object game, but certainly its a jolly bit of fun if you can get it for a reduced price sometime.

The Big Fish game organizer thing is ridiculous, however. I can not see any benefit to the end user, just downsides. I think they just copied what Reflexive were doing. NB their mac games dont use it, but no Madame Fate for Mac yet.

This looks like an excellent game. (Yeah, the Big Fish loader seems so, I don't know, Wild Tangent?)

I'm guessing the average JIG user does not fall into this category, however, which is probably why we get such a heated discussion about it here. :)

I really like Madame Fate (a little thinking lol). Anyways, I'll admit something, I am a real good clue/hint finder myself but this is beyond where my eyes can see.

I thought I'd hate this game. After 4 hours of continuous playing, I know I do, but for different reasons. It will consume me soon. Must find all hidden junque.

I love the cheesy/spooky look and the little mini-games are a nice break for the eyeballs.

This game is, by far, the BEST MCF game yet!! And there's a surprise twist at the end that I, nor anyone else I know that's playing it, did NOT see coming. It blew me away!! And b/c of this, I can't wait for the next installment!!

As far as the Big Fish downloader, it's not that bad. It takes a little bit longer to download games, but all in all it doesn't really hurt anything. I could care less, as long as I get my fix! :P

I haven't finished MCF-Madam Fate, yet. but so far I have really enjoyed it. but... I have been skipping the main challenges. I can't do them. I was hoping to have a walk through guide coming available soon. Just enough to give me some hints to get a start. but... do any of you have any other game you think worth buying? I have this one and MCF-Ravenherst. I like it too. Thanks.

I am stuck on the triangles, it shows in the hint to make two sets, I put the set in the other box and spin it moves back to the other box..no getting out of it until u solve it no phone nothing?? whats the deal?

The triangles is the last puzzle. I found it very annoying. I had fun until then & after I finally got the triangles done, to realize that there's nothing else was kind of a let down.

Anyway, you're not trying to make 2 sets of blocks, the objective is to put the triangles in the right box into the left box so the all triangles meet up into complete colored squares. (Ex: match the orange left half of a triangle w/ the orange right half to make an orange square.) All squares must be 2 halfs the same color except the outer triangles which don't make a square. The trick is to find a triangle half that doesn't fit, like there's an up white triangle, a down white triangle, and a right white triangle. The right white triangle won't match up with anything so it will have to go on the outer right edge of the box. Find a few starting points then work from there.

It was pretty tedious.

I felt like I missed something the first time through. You're suppose to click on the changing objects & I'm not sure I found all of those, then there are some other areas that are locked (tunnel of love, outhouse). I think I got the kitty carnival unlocked but nothing happened. What did I do wrong? Do I have to get all of the changing objects & if I missed some do I have to start all over?

I really hate those word puzzles cuz I'm awful with spelling. Over all I like the game. I'm on my 4th time through.

I'm knew here so please be patient with me...I'm doing my best not to 'spoil' anything.

Nancy, there is one of those objects in each room. If you just play the game again under your same idea it will continue to open those other rooms. you have to find 14 of those items to open each of 3 rooms. once you have opened them they will just come into play randomly.

does anyone know where a knife or an award is in the entrance?

Help! I'm stuck on the puzzel where you have to use arrows to lead marbles into 4 different colored bottles. I can get them all except the brown one. It seems as though the brown bottle is surrounded by blocks? HELP!

In response to the person who asked where the knife or the award is, you will see the knife on top of the information booth where a pole with a couple of directions are written. Look closely at the scooter somewhere near the handle and you will find the award. As for the balls in different bottles, you have to try guiding the balls to different holes. I dont know how i did it but after three tries i finally manage to do it. Dont give up, thats the fun part of it trying to figure it out.

Just a note on some of the comments regarding the BigFish game loader/organizer app. I can't stand it either..but! My mother is not and I repeat *not* computer savvy in the least. She loves playing these games and was really happy when the 'organizer' came out. For someone like her, it's perfect, but I agree it should be optional.

I like having my loader shortcut and no other shortcuts on my desktop, because 1 shortcut is better than 15. The true reason BFG implemented the loader was to stop piracy.

There seems to be some mixed feelings flying around about the BFG game loader, just curious if people have the same feelings about the game console at iWin?

I've no experience with that. However, since the offerings there at iwin are a small subset of what's currently available, I can't believe another game console could be considered a good thing.

I have discovered an entire world of killer games!!! I am an avid gamer and I love the Myst,Rhem,Schizm, etc games, but I didn't know about the wealth of game genre's on the web! Guess that's what breaking an arm will do...when one can't use both arms to play, find games that allow only one arm for clicking!!!! I've become completely addicted (I'm still going crazy playing Twelve Doors...btw, I found a website that decodes every door, but I still can't get to that 12th door! Not reading Japanese doesn't help either but if anyone out there in the vast net world of games has actually completed the game, please send a comment) But I digress...I could definitely live without Big Fish, yet as I write this I am downloading Madame Fate! Go figure. I can't help myself...I love a good pixel hunt and mystery. Great website Jay. Finding all these new games helped with the boredom of living with a broken bone!!!!

I got into the bathroom 1 time but can't get there again although I get all the mysterioys changing items. What am I doing wrong/or not doing? Anybody know?

I am having problems with the letters and the guy balancing on a wire...HELP!!! what do I do?!?!?! LOL

for the problem with the letters: the light switch is split (one piece above the other) get the top piece and put it with the bottom piece. Then tap the telegraph 28 times (until all the letters of the alphabet appear)
then click on a letter to move it to the bottom, and across to the end. Spell the word SUBLIME. But you have to put it in backwards to make the word come out right.

I can't figure out the scrambled words for the bearded lady. They have to do with weather.

Please, please, please, help!

Hmm... I don't seem to have the game loader that everyone is talking about. I know that the game wants to connect to the internet everytime I run it, however, I have my firewall deny the connection, and the game runs without incident.

Only Big Fish has the game loader. If you purchased your game from the Casual Gameplay store, there is no loader.

I've just finished the game. I (and a lot of other people) totally didn't see the

coming.

Now I can't wait for the next game!

I love playing this game - it's really great but I have a PROBLEM with a puzzle -> something + something = something... For example in game are wings + horse => flying horse .... I solved all items except the MONKEY!!!! Monkey is last and the things in game don't make any sense! People who completed this amazing game please help me. I've completed all previous end puzzle, it was hard but I did it so then I can't believe that I can't complete this stupid monkey.......

Can someone help me with the marble puzzle. I get that to do the brownish one you have to use the black holes. I can get the ball to the black whole closest to the jar, but the ball just automatically drops down to the arrow below and sends it away out of reach again. How do I get the ball to move forward after it pops out in the right place?

Definitely my favorite HOG ever - great spooky but fun theme, loved the mini games (and some were hard, but doable). Just so much extra stuff - everything else will pale in comparison now. Can't wait for the next one.
