List of nails:

Screen with bike:

I just wanted to note that it wasn't very clear what the rack was in the previous walk through. i referred to it later in the game so there were steps I missed, thus when looking back I didn't see the racks or the chain step until later when I went back. It caused a lot of confusion.

Here's a revised version of the walkthrough. This is recommended for people who are only referring to help themselves.

  1. get the hammer and the 1st nail from the chest.

  2. get the 2nd nail at the same screen, on the jar (left)

  3. get the chain, small rack and big rack from the bike.

  4. click the shelf above the chest.

  5. it will break. and right ski will come to your inventory.

  6. turn right.

  7. get the screwdriver on the floor.

  8. get the 3rd nail on the shelf.

  9. break the box at the bottom shelf at the right with the hammer.

  10. get the planks.

  11. click on the jars at the top shelf and get a carrot from the jar.

  12. get the left ski from left of the shelves.

  13. turn right.

  14. open the panel on the wall with the screwdriver.

  15. put the racks from the bike in it.

  16. turn right and get the 4th nail in front of the machine.

  17. get a tumbler from the machine.

  18. click on the sink and get the rope.

  19. there is the 5th nail on the machine at the sink screen.

  20. click on the shoe and get the shoe lace fom it.

  21. there is 6th nail at the shoe screen.

  22. click on the hole on the wall.

  23. get the mouse and the 7th nail.

  24. put the tumbler from the washer on the panel with racks from earlier at the bike.

  25. put the chain on the racks from the bike and the thumbler from the washer.

  26. tie the rope to the rope coming from the ceiling.

  27. combine the rope shoe lace from sink and boot and the carrot from the jar.

  28. put the carrot from the jar on the hook on the ceiling.

  29. put the right and left skies from the wall and the side of the shelf under the closet on the ceiling.

  30. get the 8th nail on the right box at the sink screen.

  31. click the planks from the box broken with the hammer on the skies.

  32. you will have a ladder to go out.

With easy escape games like this, I like to find the Phi for the game. The Phi of an escape game is the smallest number of items you ever have to have in your inventory while solving it. (I only assigned a random Greek letter to it so it'd sound professional.)

The Phi of TGKE was 1 (items placed in the Construct screen don't count). The Phi of TGLRE was 3 (hint: start with the mask). The Phi of TGBE was 2. The Phi of this game is 3 (all the nails are counted as one item, because they only take up one inventory slot).

Nice one! I finished without help for a change.

I like the last two great escapes particularly. Good animations, fun style, and solvable puzzles without much pixel hunting and giant leaps of logic.

Keep the 'Great' coming!

Reply

UnderwaterPeacock already gave the full walkthrough :O

Reply

Thanks for the list of nails! The only thing I needed to look up was where the final nail was, it was nice being able to find that without spoilers for anything else!

Reply

After seriously trained by Mateusz Skutnik's previous games, I finally figured this one out without any walkthrough. Yeah!

Reply

OK, maybe I am just dumb but I got thru the whole thing without the walkthru then couldn't get out. What do you do with the

mouse

and what is the story about the

whole chain and gears assembly in the wall?

My gut tells me that somehow I am supposed to be able to

get the mouse to chase the carrot (chili pepper?) but I can't seem to find where/how to connect the mouse to the rope.

Reply

I'm happy another "TG_E" is out! I figured this out with only one piece of help, and that was breaking the box.

Is the next game "The Great Bedroom Escape?"

Reply

The last bit of the walkthrough is missing a couple of steps:

Place the mouse in the gear contraption (on the washing machine tumbler, I believe). The gears will turn after he starts running; at that point, click the rope on the right and it will snag in the gears and open the trap door

Isn't this a bit far fetched solution. I mean couldn't you just tie the pulled rope to anything.

Wow! This is the first Skutnik I've completed without a walkthrough, or of any point and game really (apart from Ghostscape).

Maybe my skills are getting better? D: Must...get...life...:P

Only joking, that would be unthinkable!

These guys are one of the best when it comes to the Escape-The-Room game genre!

What on earth do you do with the chain and racks

Reply

This series gets easier each game. I'm not too big a fan of the art though I prefer this to the games that use ultra real art like Gotmail stuff.

clicking on the box first, and then breaking it.

I had a lot of trouble getting it myself.

You could try

Hanging a carrot from a bootlace.

Reply

in the walkthrough, you forgot

take the mouse to the tumbler so it will run the machine and pull the rope so you can get out

Reply

in the walkthrough, you forgot

Reply

How do you combine the

'rack' and the 'tumbler' I can't do it. Do you do it in the items panel? Not working for me.

Reply

That was hard! I was wondering what they meant by open the panel on the wall

You put the mouse on the tumbler in the hole and then click on the rope and then click on the ladder and you will be free!
