Game created by Benjamin Soule of Motion-Twin

Just a quick update to say that we have been moving our bandwidth-heavy content (images, hosted games) during the past few days to a global content delivery network to help the site load faster (no matter where you are in the world). We were hoping this would be completely transparent to you, the visitor, and that we wouldn't have to bother you with a note like this.

Unfortunately, one of the downsides to moving all the games we host is that any game saves you may have created will seem to be missing since Flash stores your data on your hard drive based on the server domain name where the game is being hosted.

Tech savvy users can resurrect those lost saves by locating the .sol file (Flash game save file) for the old domain — will be of the format: flash.games.*.fizzlebot.com where * stands for the first letter in the game title — and move it to where the .sol file is stored for the same game at the new domain, games.jayisgames.com.

If you have a problem with that, leave a comment and someone should be able to help out.

I apologize for any inconvenience this causes you, but rest assured this won't ever likely happen again, and your experience here at Jayisgames should be even better from now on. :)

Walkthrough Guide

(Please allow page to fully load for spoiler tags to be functional.)

A list of what each upgrade does, from left to right:

  • Personnel: Increases the number of men working by one.

  • Leg Strength: Increases the speed of the men when they're coming back to RedBus.

  • Arm Strength: Increases the speed of the men when they're carrying cargo to Global Switch.

  • Throw: Upgrade once, and the men will occasionally stop and throw their cargo to Global Switch instead of carrying it all the way. Upgrade further and they'll do it more often.

  • Package Reinforcement: Reinforces the cargo so that if you drop it on the ground after picking it up with the cursor, it won't break.

For Windows 7, here's where those files probably are located given a standard setup

C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Flash Player\#Shared Objects\

where [username] is your windows username, and [random folder name] is a seemingly random bunch of characters. Hopefully there should be only one. If not, and you wish to retain all JiG flash game progress ever, you will have to repeat Jay's instructions starting with the oldest and overwriting if there is a conflict when moving.

It took me quite a while to realise that the animation was actually a game, and I've found it quite a nice distraction from the slightly more productive things of my day.

I was then spending quite a while just letting it run on while I upgraded things...Then I realised that

you could drag the items to the global switch

Wow...Well done on managing to hide a game with good distraction qualities and gimmicks, jay =)

This game is awesome. We should review it.

Unfortunately, this transfer will not actually happen, because I'm stopping all the little men from moving your data to the new network. Foolish little men! Your efforts are meaningless!

You can throw them too!

A small bug I noticed is that if you just quick-click on a box, it gets freezes and it gets stuck in the foreground.

i'm here to help JIG! I'm almost at 200, how much more do you need?

You can even upgrade things by moving your mouse to the top!

I just realized that the sun moves in correspondence with the time! (ie. at noon it's in the middle)

I'll keep this open in my browser for a while. Very clever, JiG!

Nuts! I left the screen in the background to let the guys build up some currency, then I forgot and restarted my computer. :(

By the way, with the

package reinforcement upgrade, it's much easier to throw packages into the other building. Instead of carefully tossing them in an arc, you can just flick them down and they'll slide in.

I noticed that the sun changes position *and* the sky turns colors with the time.

Reply

So I've been playing this for a creepy amount of time. Do I ever win or does it just end when the sun goes down?

Reply

@ShodoKat Wait, it ends when the sun goes down? :O

Reply

@Kalistic: Nobody knows yet. The sun hasn't gone down completeley yet since this is the first day it's out.

Reply

Once the Throw is upgraded high enough, the only thing worthwhile buying is more workers.

Reply

Oh! Look at the pretty stars! *stares*

Reply

I am ashamed to say that I'm STILL playing. I don't have stars yet so I will see this whole thing through.

Darn you Jay and staff for stealing away hours of my time everyday. D:

Reply

@ShodoKat You probably don't have stars because it sets by your system clock, and it isn't night where you are. It's almost twelve here.

Reply

Simply addicting.

Reply

The game seems to disregard my upgrades/run really slowly when it is not on-screen. Does anyone else have this issue?

That aside, it's really fun.

Reply

Hey! Some of those little guys have really good arms and really crappy aim. I just saw one of 'em throw a box OVER the building!

Seems like it doesn't keep playing if it's in the background of the browser -- for example, in another tab -- but it works just fine if it's in the foreground of a *program* that's in the background. When I had a different tab open to keep browsing elsewhere, no progress, but when I opened another browser window, the little guys kept working right along.

Reply

LOL, I thought the point was to stop them reaching the other building. Too much tower defense.

Reply

Awwwww, I had every upgrade maxed and came here to the discussion page to crow about it and all of the upgrades disappeared. Neither refreshing the page nor the browser's back button worked. I has a sad now.

It was enjoyable at the beginning watching the stickmen move in different speeds, upgrading was cheap, and I was making money fast, then came the hard/boring part, when the game doesn't auto-play itself even when I'm on the same page ! (I tried playing Robot wants JIG aftergame, you know up there at top) I had to face the browser at all times, so here's what I eventually did :

I started intentionally picking up cargo and throwing them up into the skies, then the drop back down raining, what fun and enjoyment it was, but it eventually got boring...so I quitted

Reply

I DID IT. I UPGRADED EVERYTHING TO MAX. I win.

Now to get back on with my life...

Reply

Ooh. That sky is lovely, but not exactly accurate. I've got a sunset picture at 6:30pm clock and sun time (I know they're the same, because the Greenwich meridian is only a few miles East of here). In the middle of December it's been dark for a couple of hours.

Hmmm... I wonder whether it takes the time on refresh - and sleeping stops the clock?

Reply

It's because it's December, I think. It probably goes by an average time. ;)

Yay! Does the move mean I'll be able to play One Chance again? :D

[That depends on when you first played it. If you played it before Friday, then yes, you should be able to play it again now. -Jay]

Reply

Yes! I have addiction! Even though I upgraded EVERYTHING to the MAX, it's still fun to watch.

I'm curious why you didn't simply move the fizzlebot domain to the global content delivery network. Cost? Branding? Copyright litigation?

None of my business.. I'm just curious.

I'd also be interested in learning about where to find such a delivery network, what it costs, your visitors/bandwidth per month, how much you pay for content, etc....

Reply

Awesome! Thanks, Jay; I always enjoy learning about successful entrepreneurs and what goes into running a site of this caliber. Incidentally, I really appreciate the hosted games; linked games have a tendency to disappear or end up containing inappropriate content.

I went to some great parties at RIT.. and I'll never forget the frigid 1/4-mile wind tunnel you had to walk to get to class.. Brrr!

Does anyone realize you need to throw 1200 boxes into the building to make the steel box upgrade actually worth it? :|
