Escape from Yepi Planet
Ever wonder what life is like on an alien world? Whether it's a dusty wasteland like Mars or something more exotic and further from home, perhaps like the Yepi planet, it would be nice to know what happens in places other than our own little blue marble, Earth. What, you've never heard of Yepi? It's a wonderful place, Yepi planet, lush, verdant, peaceful, home of the Yepi and their Yepi girls, right up until evil alien invaders arrive to plunder and kidnap. You know, as you do. Guess life on other planets is pretty similar to our own. Although hopefully with much less probing. Join one poor Yepi on his yepi quest to escape his yepi planet and rescue his Yepi girl in — yes, you guessed it — Escape from Yepi Planet, a whimsical point-and-click adventure from BeGamer.
Just click in the scene to make things happen, like Yepi finding his perfect mate or his quest to rescue her from the ugly, hairy aliens who abduct her in the opening scenes. Gameplay is very reminiscent of such Pencilkids fare as Abuba the Alien or the Monkey Go Happy series. You just need to find the right combination of actions to get Yepi across the scene and on to the next. This is a short and sweet little time waster, packed with tons of personality, quirky characters and backgrounds, and more than a little rude humor that would have been right at home in Ace Ventura 2. So take a little time to explore alien worlds and enjoy the delights of Yepi, Yepi Girl, Yepi planet, and yepi, yepi, yepi. You know, yepi!
When you say cute overload, this is what you mean! This game is so cute it makes me awesomely sick lol
But back to seriousness, I really enjoyed this adventure. While it may not the hardest game out there, Yepi planet was quite pleasurable to play, all the way through the end.
PS- The most epic moment in the game was...
Inserting yourself into the pink alien's butt- Epic!
Not a bad little game
That was too cute !
My most epic moment
Flushing the big bad boss down the toilet
OMG... did I just
crawl up an animal's arse???
Not a bad game but I have a small plea to game designers everywhere. How about a girl having to rescue her boyfriend??? Or a girl rescuing her girlfriend, or boy rescuing his boyfriend? Or a girl rescuing herself?
*sigh*
no walkthrough?
Hi Dandy,
If you're willing to download games, the casual hidden object adventure genre is dominated by female heroines. Try also looking through the Indie adventure category (as well as some browser titles) for alternative scenarios. There's many to recommend...just hit the "Indie" and "Casual" tabs up top, along the Casual Gameplay banner.
Hi Elle,
I've played both Syberias and Still Life 2 & 3 along with a number of other heroine lead titles and I just recently finished playing The Longest Journey. Which is probably why this stuck in my craw more than it usually would. To be honest I'm not a huge fan of hidden object games but I've played a few so I do know female lead games exist.
It's just that most female characters in them tend to be more Nancy Drew "I have to get to the bottom of this mystery!" rather than Jodie Foster "Nobody kidnaps my loved one and gets away with it!"
Plus I see this type of scenario of guy rescues gal a lot more often in short, free games. It's not a big deal, it just irks me. Would people really not want to play a quick point and click game with gender reversal or gay characters?
Sorry to get heavy. It's the full moon.
The "escape" tag brought me to this game. At first I was disappointed that it was not an escape-the-room, but actually liked the game anyway.
@dandy,
Agreed,
The damsel in distress archetype is largely obsolete now a days.
