Wake the Royalty is Eugene Karataev's sequel to Wake Up the Box, with a pleasant, hypnotic tune by ImperfectDisciple accompanying it. 25 levels in all, this iteration doesn't really bring anything new to the table, but it's still a fun little diversion. If you're looking for a good phuzzle to waste a bit of time, look no further.

And a very fine reader-submitted review it is.

What's with level 5, the groggy king is too fat to let the second pulley move!?

I really really liked the first game in this series and wanted to like this one as much. I normally don't like physics games, and it was nice to find one that was actually fun (and funny too!).

But this game reminds me more of the physics games that drive me up the wall. I can't tell you how many times I had to replay certain levels (level 16 for example--argh!) not because I didn't know how to do them, but because the physics needed me to be so precise it was nearly impossible (or in some cases moving parts just said "meh, I don't feel like moving this time around, but if you do the same exact thing but move it two pixels over I juuuuuust might next time!"). I kept looking at the walkthrough to see if I was going at various solutions wrong, but the walkthrough would have exactly what I was doing!

And if you'll allow me two more minor annoyances... The restart button is too close to the ad at the bottom of the screen, so several times I missed it and wound up going to some random page trying to get me to play Lord of the Rings online or Pepsi products(which works out great for the advertisers, so maybe it was intentional after all!). And just now I clicked the link here to go back to the game, and my progress wasn't saved. Fortunately for me I've already finished the game, but why offer a select level option if it's just going to reset when I close the window?

Sorry this turned into a bit of a rant. Maybe I shouldn't play physics games of any sort at 3 in the morning? Thanks for putting up with me, everyone!

Level 17 is a bit cruel. It isn't very hard to figure out what you have to do, but the level itself is quite slow and I had to do it several times over because

that last ball just didn't get in.

But I just figured out that

you just have to wait a little, apparently. The king just wakes up slowly!

I just love their faces when they wake up, hilarious!

Finally beat the whole damn game. Score: 11352. And I only needed to consult the walkthrough once or twice. Yay me.
