Black Tower Enigma
Do you love Zelda-like dungeons, with all those wonderful riddles and puzzles? Ever wanted a game just like, that only missing all the monsters and that incredibly annoying, worthless disembodied hand that sends you right back to the beginning? (I'm looking at you, Wallmaster!) Well, now there is a game just like that for your Android and iOS devices. Black Tower Enigma, by Ogre Pixel, contains eleven levels of mind puzzling problems your little green orc must solve in order to reach the top of the tower. He is not doing so because of the current war between humans and orcs. No, he has put all that aside because his wife, beautiful in her own orcish ways, was taken captive; tricked by a beautiful dress gifted by a mysterious giver. Now he will stop at nothing and enter the tower no one else has ever conquered to get her back. Aw, isn't true love so cute?
There are no monsters to fight in Black Tower Enigma, or any way to die. Instead, success comes down to advancing the level, or being stuck there for all eternity. Each level is a different type of puzzle, and part of the riddle is figuring out what it really wants from you. You can be in a room with a switch, and three large dice around a fountain, and you have to figure out which item is really important. The only controls are the arrow keys on screen and the X button that lets you interact. Explore everything, though most things you'll look at will just tell you it's empty again and again, but the books are what are really going to help you along the way. Each level has a page from a blue, black, green, and/or red book which hold hints about the enigmas you are facing... though not necessarily for the floor you're currently on. Thankfully, you can head back downstairs in case you think you missed something, but besides hints in the book pages, all solutions can be solved with everything in the room on that level.
Eleven levels is not a whole lot, and you're going to find the ending shows up much faster than you wanted it to. However, if you really want to go and see if you can solve all the puzzles with nothing but your wit and wisdom, ignoring the temptation for a walkthrough, then this is going to be worth more than just the small price you paid for it. There is a bit more to the depth of the game, with pieces of a deeper story all around you, locked away in the mysterious book pages. While the ending wraps up things rather nicely, there are still a lot of mini stories that are left open, so perhaps Ogre Pixel will revisit this tower in the future, with many, many more levels. We can only hope... well, hope, and enjoy this current short tale.
Well, I'm stuck as early as floor 2. A tiny hint would be appreciated.
The lever doesn't do anything until I get 6's on all three dice, at which point it summons a red ghost for a second or so. I can't interact with the ghost in any way.
"Good luck only lasts for a little while. Use it when it comes." I'm sure that ties into it somehow.
Hey Sonic,
The hint is in the room from one of the books. But its not the one you're thinking of.
I didn't see the ghost the first time I played. I wonder what other hidden things I missed.
Stuck on "The Moment"; any hints? Thanks :)
Hey Scoop
The only 'hint' I can think of may give too much away. =/ But take it if you want it!
The thing about this one is that there is nothing in game you can do to change it, unless you wait. But outside of the game you can change something.
The book the hint is in is
Black Book
Perfect :) Thanks!
Just blew through the whole game. On to the next mental conquest, I guess.
Here you go:
The clue says '3 witches with 3 eyes...'. There are 3 dice - ;)
If you are still stuck, you can search for me on youtube (same name) and there is a completion guide video i did, it will help you.
