Botiada

drstrosyIf Light-bot had babies with a 2D sliding block puzzle, those babies might look a little bit like this deceptively simple new puzzler, Botiada by industred. Your job is to unite all the bots on the page and, while you're at it, try to hit all of the charger spaces as well. While the zen nature of this game allows you to move on to the next level without a single charge lit, where the real puzzle comes in is finding a way to both connect all the bots and turn on all the charges at the same time. Lighting one, two, and all three charges has value, as each provides you with voltage to open the next ten levels in the game. In all, the 40 levels can be played through in a few short minutes if you are only interested in finishing. But real puzzle lovers will find many levels that challenge them to think through their moves to try to accomplish the ultimate goal.

BotiadaAs you move through the levels, there is little in the way of tutorial. The game is set up in such a way that you can easily figure out what each new bot, slider, or block does. Blue bots each move independently, green bots all move together, and red bots can push a stationary block by one space. Some spaces can only be slid across vertically or horizontally, and some change the direction of the slide. Ice cube blocks disintegrate, blue bumpers push you back one space in the direction you just came, and red blocks are controlled by a button in the floor. As the game progresses and these items are added together into more and more contorted puzzles, it becomes more entertaining to figure out how to both connect the bots and light up the charges. And don't forget the little sleeping bots that are scattered throughout--they need to be connected as well! While the game could definitely benefit from more levels that combine more options, it's a perfect casual gameplay experience to jumpstart your creative juices on a slow afternoon.

Hmm, I can't seem to beat level 7 without ending on a yellow space...

Level 7 - No yellow sqaures:

Drag the lowermost "2-block" up twice, and then the big "7-block" right.

This game is ridiculously similar to Pudding Monsters.

Is it possible for JIG to rig the games it hosts so that they resize themselves when I zoom in the browser window? Everything else on the page gets bigger but the game stays the same size. I have to resort to accessibility options to zoom the whole monitor and that gets annoying if I accidentally hit the edge and the whole thing moves and I have to find it again.

Have to agree, this game is a pretty close copy of Pudding Monsters.

After beating the game i realised:

The "Botiada" achivement for getting all achivements is impossible to get because it counts itself as an achivement; to get it you must have it.

Is it meant to be so, or is it a bug/mistake in the programming?

How do I get level 3 without a single yellow block being touched?

Level 3, no yellow blocks touched.

Centre-left block, move right. Push those two up to hit the top-right block. Push top left block to right. You should have a 'Z' shape. You should be able to figure out the rest from there.

Also the puzzles are copied from Pudding Monsters. As an example, level 2 is PM's level 1-4, level 3 is PM's 1-6, level 5 is PM's 1-10, level 6 is PM's 1-18, level 8 is PM's 1-20, level 11 is PM's 1-25, level 13 is PM's 2-7, level 14 is PM's 2-8...
To get visibility stealing other developers' games (from which they make money) is wrong to me.

Level 8 with 1 and 2 charger spaces:

1 charger space:
Push the big block up, and then push it left two times.

2 charger spaces:
Push the big block up and the little block right two times.
