From the title, you may get the image of little specks all over that thing stuck in your head, but Brain Dots, a puzzle drawing game free for Android and iOS by Translimit Inc, is really nothing of the sort (and much more pleasant to think about). Although this free game for your mobile device has simple rules, the puzzles can be anything but. The goal is to get the blue dot and the pink dot to touch. Tap and hold to draw some lines, then sit back and see if you've managed to pass the level. If the dots don't touch, or one falls off the screen, it's game over. There are no time or line length limits, and you can try each level as many times as you need. After you figure it out, there's an option to share your masterpiece or haphazard solution with your friends.
While some solutions are obvious, others require out of the box thinking, and still others may stump you completely. Solutions can range from a single, smooth curved line, to an inelegant mess of off kilter triangles. You can jump around to different levels to an extent, though you have to solve a certain number before new areas are unlocked. There are many obstacles that can keep the two dot friends apart. Some areas are chained off and can't be drawn in, or there might be a laser to turn off, or a conveyor belt to traverse. Then there are the pens to collect. After you reach certain (frustratingly unnamed) milestones, different pens become available for purchase with in-game currency earned by passing levels. These range from paint brushes to feather quills and seem to be purely for fun, rather than function (though I admit, the game is so large they could come into play in levels I have yet to reach). With hundreds of levels of brain teasing fun at your fingertips, Brain Dot may have you glued to the screen for quite awhile, or at least until your gray matter is exhausted.
