i liked the music a lot but iu couldn't get the game to start :( What to do on the titlescreen?
Oh wow! I knew I wasn't doing too well, and I thought I was going to be quite frustrated, as I am with a lot of games, but
when the ship broke and broke up completely I laughed so much. The sounds and animation for that was really neat.
Thanks for that :-D
I have found this game the most satisfying and enjoyable of all the games so far. while the controls took a few gos to get used to, the gameplay, graphics and sound were very good.
Hit the up arrow to go forward.
tomsamson - just press the [up] arrow.
I like the general idea - asteroids with a mission. But, this game is not among my favorites.
Although the game hasn't been posted long, I placed 3rd (by thiiiis much), which is amazing since I didn't bring along any of my cargo). This is indicative of a few things: 1. It is too easy to lose your cargo - and for me it happens all at once, not a bit at a time. 2. Once you lose your cargo it is almost too easy. I could go a bit faster I suppose, but the narrow canyons don't encourage that (except in the fast segments) because of the unforgiving nature of the walls if you're going fast. During the fast segments I ran into asteroids(?) but that did seemingly no damage.
The game is too long and repetitive to make me NOT mind losing a life.
Finally, the theme implementation wasn't that great. While sort of central to the game, once you lose them (which, as I pointed out above is too easy) there's nothing left of the theme.
I don't mean to be entirely negative, because I do like the concept, but it does need a bunch of work for me.
:-) I really like how the ship deforms when you bump "gently" into walls, and how you can sometimes keep limping along with most your bits broken off.
I found the steering very touchy when you still have all four balls; I guess that's where the physics comes in?
Oh yeah, great music, too. I had it playing behind my own and it fit well enough that I didn't notice!
Well the rigid body and ball physics are great but that's about as much as I can say I'm afraid. I found the game to be pretty un-playable due to the insane difficulty.
Am I just doing it wrong or is it almost impossible to get anywhere without losing the mineral balls, and then getting smashed to pieces shortly after?
I couldn't get past half way, and that was without the mineral balls.
The music is good and the abstract style is cool though =).

Oh, this one is FUN!
I have to say, not so impressed. I couldn't really see how the ball physics theme was a part of the game. The controls felt very clunky. The start of the game was good to give the player some time to figure out the controls, but after passing the speed bar, it was only a matter of seconds before I was wildly obliterated. Good concept, needs polish.
thanks jay :)
haha, i was tapping around on space, enter and some other keys wondering what's up :)
I agree with the others that the difficulty could use some tweaking but besides that i think its a nice well done game :)
And yup, loved the music :)
Yeah, not really 'ball physics' it feels more like a toy-game that had balls added in, in order to submit it.
Also, The balls are seemingly one peice. Rather counter-intuitive, especially since you measure the number of balls left at the end.
Loved the concept, I think it was difficult because once your cargo started swaying back and forth you couldn't do much to correct and avoid hazards. I think it could be a great game if it could be like an escape the asteroid game like you put a nuke in there and then you have to speed outta there while this explosion of flames and rock is behind you.
Really fun, and I like how the physics of the balls keep you off-balance, but couldn't there be more of a learning curve?
Lovely music and visuals, I really like the way the ship breaks up.
I have a couple of gameplay complaints though: The compass-needle wobble of the ship when navigating the narrow passages is very distracting, making it near impossible to accurately tell what way the ship is pointing at critical moments. In the fast sections, the falling rocks appear so quickly it's impossible to dodge them, so getting past those is pure chance.
Hmm, I liked it pretty well, but like most of you it's almost too easy without the balls and way to difficult with them. Judging by the high score table, a bunch of us have finished the mission, but only one person has finished with ball(s) left attached to his/her ship.
It's a nice concept, but more levels and a learning curve would be great additions.
The controls would be much better if they were analog... tapping the arrow keys to make a small correction ends up sending you out into left field.
I'd like to second Kellyhalia's comment about the exploding ship - that is indeed awesome.
Even funnier was the game where I managed to utterly trash my ship without dying! The incredibly mashed up wreck carried on flying... until I smacked into a wall going way too fast. :-)
I finally managed to knock off just one ball, they could use a bit more space between them, making it more than an all or nothing finish.
It is a bit too long for my liking, but overall is a good game.
Good Fun Game, high replay value and highly addictive.
This was a weird one to me. I can't tell if it was on purpose or not, but the ships controls just seemed too jerky and unresponsive for me to enjoy. If that is the cause of the balls, then fie on that cargo and lets just get out of here! It also was quite long. I didn't finish it and didn't really feel the need to. I suppose this type of game just isn't my thing.
On the other hand, who remembers Solar Jetman? This brought back some good memories of that, even if I didn't like this game all that much.
Hi there,
thanks for the comments so far!
Quite interesting to see how especially the opinions about the difficulty diverge :)
Just wanted to clear out two confusions:
- the asteroids in the fast parts indeed aren't supposed to crush you, but to bounce you to the sides (which will either push you into the wall or cost some cargo if you don't react fast enough)
- although you CAN finish the game without freight the real challenge is to lose as less as possible of it
Thanks for commenting!
I loved the music, who is the artist?
Too easy, but a lot of fun.
the tailed spaceship reminds me of Oroboros game. there are lots of interesting details in this game (story, graphics, physics and music), but all of them distracts me from the lack of gameplay that, in my oppinion, misses most.
Nice little timewaster. Arcade-like graphics are really a nice touch for this kind of game I think. The controls are somewhat inaccurate though. Why first point the ship into another direction and then accellerating in that direction? Why two buttons for essentially one movement?
I really liked the damage model. How it bends, and if it bends too much, it breaks off or even tears the ship apart. Really fun to watch.
This is one game that has high replayablity. The first thing I did before my morning coffee, or test the other games was to give this one another try. If this is Addiction call me an addict.
Blast! The Cargo is lost again... those poor, poor colonists.

That was fun, but avoiding the rocks on the speed sections seemed to involve a bit too much luck rather than skill.
I have to say, I LOVE LVOE LOVE the music...but it's so hard to steer. Just too ungainly. And it's nigh-impossible to avoid asteroids in the speedways.
Just for the record I'm back again to try to deliever those necessary food supplies!
Fun!
