Tonypa has just released a new, updated version of the physics-based puzzle game Cobacoli. Each level presents you with a group of colored circles and a simple goal: clear the board by knocking each into a like-colored wall. Aim the white circle with the mouse and click to send it flying. Each time it touches a colored wall, you lose a shot. Run out of shots and it's game over, but perform well and you'll net bonus shots that can be saved for later use. You can't control the velocity of the cue ball, only the direction, so take aim wisely and cross your fingers.
The biggest improvement in the update is a level select screen that allows you to play any level you've already unlocked. Bonus shots are not carried over when selecting individual levels, but playing through stages in order still earns you those precious extras. High scores are also saved for each level and for your current session.

Congrats, Tonypa, you've taken the step that automatically makes it a 5 star game!
Thanx for listening to the feedback. I appreciate it a lot.
I love this. The simple graphics add character. The gameplay is devishly simple and it gets you hooked instantly. But my god is stage 16 hard. I like the music too, it has a sombre feel to it but in a lighthearted way(?). It kinda reminds me of the music in one of the Monkey Islands™.
So slow... I can't play a game that makes me wait minutes for the balls to stop after I cause them to move.
The original version was a great but this is even better. I think it gives the game even more replay value now that I can start at the last level completed successfully. It was getting a bit boring having to go through all the levels, only to end up failing at level 21 over and over again.
Maybe now I'll be able to get past level 21 :-)
Terrific game Tonypa.
The level select greatly improves the game. Another good addition would be a way to restart a level. I'm currently struggling through level 8, and sometimes I'll make a bad first move which costs me almost all of my shots, but the only way to start over is to either play it out and lose, or reload the window.
Agreed with Neddo. It's also frustrating not to be able to get to the main menu with the options without losing. (??? I think)
After a point I got annoyed with the transitions and wanted to turn them off, but there was no way to do it without losing the game.
Snowy,
I'm afraid I'm not following you. How do you imagine getting from a level to the main menu without losing? Stepping out of the level and it still remains active? Why would one do that?
I guess stage 19 is simply impossible to do alone. The number of shots you get without the bonus you can carry from the previous levels is simply not enough. There is no way to start the level without losing at least 4-5 lives and there's no way to continue with clear shots - so very probably you're dead within 3 shots - and that's not enough to get to the ball.
But that doesn't make this one a worse game - those who choose hopping levels (me included :) must pay the price somehow :)
Great addition this level selection, I still say, Tonypa.
Well, well... Post and be proved wrong... Just after I posted that one I beat the level... I got 0 lives left but I beat it :)
I'm lovin' it. It's definitely got that addicting "just one more try" factor. Finally had to give up on level 24 - too difficult to work the angles - though I'm sure I'll be back to give it another go. Thanks for this one.
Finished all 30 levels.
The only thing i can complain about is the order of the levels - they seem not to be an order of increasing difficulty - the levels 21-25 are damn harsh and the last 3-4 ones are much easier. But, hey, Tonypa never said it would be an ever increasing difficulty curve, did he? :)
Also, sometimes the balls didn't seem to ricochet in the exact angle they were supposed to be, but that wasn't a big deal either.
The game is great but is unnecessary sloooooooow. I hate when I make a bad shot and the balls (circles? weights?) take ages to stop moving.
Also, there should be a reset button. It's quite sadistic to force the player to spend all those neverending shots before he can try the level again, even though it's blatantly obvious there's no chance in winning the level anymore...
this is another great game! it reminds me of playing pool!
but i quit playing it :( Why?
the music is driving me insane, and i cant turn it of without turning off the sound of my whole pc.
such a great game with music from a funeral is an true shame!
I agree with Snowy - it would be nice to have a menu option while you are in-game. At least a level-reset option if you are playing 1 level at a time. The way it is now, if you screw up your first shot and leave yourself no chance of winning, you have to go until you run out of lives, then review the score, then wait for the Jay-is-games intro (there is no skip), then click go and select the level once again.
