Your favorite fruit is back in a new installment of Johnny-K and Vladg's physics puzzle favorite in Cover Orange Journey: Pirates. If you've been following the cute oranges on their travels, you'll now see them warped to a more tropical location. While the weather should be exceptional, unfortunately the evil rain cloud seems to follow them wherever they go. So it's not going to be oranges sipping Mai Tais on the beach (there's a cannibal joke in there somewhere), but oranges rolling for their lives. It falls to you to keep them safe. Again. Poor things.
The goal is to keep your oranges safe by tucking them away under ledges or otherwise covering them with treasure chests or whatever else happens to be laying around. In the upper corner of the screen, you'll see the objects you have to drop during for the level, including sometimes needing to drop the oranges themselves. You'll also see a line dividing the screen horizontally. Everything you drop must be released from above this line. After you've used up all your objects for the level, the rain cloud comes by. If the oranges are properly covered, you pass the level, if not, you have to try again. You earn some stars for finishing quickly, but also be on the lookout for one hidden star you'll have to click on that appears only when the cloud is overhead. Some of the levels are a little fiddly with precise timing, but this is a minor complaint considering the over all challenging puzzle design, and you are provided three helmets that allow you to skip a level if you really get stuck. The Pirates installment is fairly short, so if you can't get enough you should check out the mobile version, which includes past Journey installments, plus more. The Cover Orange games rarely fail to please, and this game is no exception.
