David is a game, an arcade game, and David is a very unusual game. Our little polygon hero finds himself in a world of abstract shapes and giant evil beasts that are out to eviscerate him one angle at a time. His only powers are the ability to run away like a little yellow belly and fire slingshot-like blasts at his foes. Sometimes he feels powerful, sometimes victorious, but there's always nagging feelings of helplessness and hopelessness in this dangerous world that just wants David to go away.
Describing David is a bit like describing a strange dream: you kinda had to be there to know why it makes sense. The game places you in small arenas with a boss-type character who pursues you relentlessly. Your job is to figure out how to take each baddie down, then actually stay alive long enough to do it. Levels have two difficulties you'll need to complete to call yourself a David master, but it's something you'll honestly want to do once you sit down with this gem.

I bought the iPad version, but the movement controls don't work and the title screen loaded twice as big as it should have been.
It looks like a good game so far, but I can't even get past the tutorial due to the movement bug.
I hope the developer fixes this.
Hi, thegreatescaper!
I sincerely appologize about this issue. Totally my fault! An update is on the way to fix this (adds support for older iPad devices). Again, I'm very sorry, and I hope you have fun when the update arrives!
Hi Andrew,
Thanks for the quick response! I'll be eagerly awaiting the update so I can play this.
Thanks!
I'm glad you read this, thegreatescape. It's tough to reach everyone with the problem and let them know the fix is on its way. (Especially in the reviews. Apple could/should make it a bit easier for a dev to deal with customers problems/feedback. Maybe some day!) Thanks again for your patience, friend!
Hi again, thegreatescaper! Hope you've found the update fixed things up for you and you're able to finally have some fun with David. Let me know what you think!
Hi Andrew,
Thanks for the update. It's a really good game so far, with all the different bosses feeling unique and different from the norm. I don't particularly like the physics too much; feels a bit 'floaty' to me, but it isn't a big downer.
I like how you offered two modes for each boss, but the easy mode just feels a bit too easy. The extra lives give a lot more room for clumsy mistakes, and I mean a lot. Perhaps for the easy mode keep the single life, but slow down the speed of the boss and it's attacks? Just my suggestion.
The level design itself however,is really quite brilliant and where the game truly shines. Finding a strategy, than executing it to defeat the boss is quite a satisfying and exhilarating experience due to how nicely the levels are crafted.
David is not a perfect game, but it does it's job pretty darn well. A couple of physics and difficulty tweaks, and this game will become one of my favorite ipad games.
