trimps

Lori.hLost on a foreign planet it doesn't seem like you have much choice but to survive by gathering food by hand. This is a very slow way to do so, so soon you plant a trap to try and gain something yummy to eat. Instead of finding some fluffy and delicious beast you find an odd looking imp-like creature who then follows your every command. You decided to lovingly call it a Trimp and when you catch another and another you realize you could have a small army. So you make one. Trimps is an incremental game that is much like A Dark Room in style and gameplay. The mysterious circumstances of your arrival are quite similar, and the goal is not to just get the most of everything, but to traverse the world around you. Though it is a bit less serious and has a good string of humor (even if it is a bit dark) that goes all through the game. It entertains you while you explore with your new army, build and upgrading your new minions and keeps you smirking even as you search for clues for where exactly you are in this fantastic adventure by GreenSatellite.

Trimps starts off a lot like A Dark Room where it is you and a nearly empty screen. You can only do one thing and the story is minimum, not letting you know much. But things quickly pick up. And you don't even have to keep clicking to get things moving! Just select the action you wish to do and you'll automatically collect every second. This helps you manage everything going on because soon you're gathering many different kinds of resources, managing your herd of Trimps, and watching them battle it out on the map. This not really a game you're going to want to leave running on another tab as pieces of the story can come abruptly. And with the narrative being so vaguely and mysteriously told you're going to want every small bit you can get. Unlike the plot, the gameplay is fully explained as you go, so when a new action is introduced it's not hard to keep up with. The pacing itself is goes at a good speed; when things start becoming monotonous something is added on for you to try out. This is a great incremental for those who love these types of games and for those who are new to it as it's more than just gain gold to gain more gold. You need to use your Trimps wisely to discover the land, become a powerful leader, and find the answers to why you are here.

This game really separates itself from other incremental games, not JUST because usually you click super fast on something to make things happen but here it's automated so all you have to do is divert your attention and manage your time, but also that past the first few stages, your work still makes a difference. Usually, you click a few times to get things started, and then slowly, automation becomes so much better than what you can do yourself that you have no real reason to contribute anything, because it'd be such a minor change. But here, you constantly get upgrades that keep your abilities relevant - not to the point where you're doing most of the work still, but that you can at least get something going noticeably faster.

My first run through I randomly found the map for "The Block" while running another map, but I've since reset and gotten past Zone 10 (which I believe is when you can start finding it) and despite farming maps repeatedly I haven't found it again. Does anyone know if it's just a random chance every time you run a map and I've been getting unlucky, or if you have to actually make new maps until you get one with it?

Finally found the map again. It looks like you do need to make new maps until you get one with it.
