Way Too Casual

JohnBOh ho ho, we are so back with more casual gameplay in podcast form! Just in time to wave goodbye to the holiday season, Joe from FlashGameLicense along with Jay, Dora and John from JIG managed to get Eli Piilonen, creator of The Company of Myself, to sit down and be subjected to questions of all kinds. We get serious with the games this episode, so you don't want to miss the shouting matches, dirty glares, roundhouse kicks, and thoughtful gifts of chocolates and cheeses exchanged between us.

At the end of the podcast, we send out a call to you, listener, asking for feedback on our next discussion topic: usability. What are some common usability issues that crop up when you're playing browser games? Interface clunky and slow? Tired of movement wired to the WASD keys? It's a chance to let your voice be heard! Send us a Skype voicemail or e-mail! Leave me voicemail E-mail: [email protected]

Check out the show details after the break, and keep up with the latest podcast happenings on the official Way Too Casual website!

Featured games:
  • Dale and Peakot - Farmer + shotgun + chicken = good. But it's not perfect...
  • Async Racing - Multiplayer racing without multiple players.
  • Continuity - Sliding puzzle game, meet platformer. Now... combine!

Topic of discussion:
Interview with Eli Piilonen, creator of The Company of Myself. Eli, why did you make a browser game that made me cry?! ;_;

Ah, sorry to hear that Gr33nThunder... The email has been getting a bit of spam lately. We will make sure to look through it again for the next episode. But thanks for all the lovely feedback emails everyone, some really great stuff! Keep it coming.

Hi, really liked the podcast, but one thing I didn't like was that the voices sometimes were at different volume - sometimes one's voice was really quiet or really high, so I guess normalizing the voices would be cool (all though I don't know if it's a good solution to a problem, because I'm not a technicianm, heh).

Also, how do you choose the music (or musac, w/e it should be called) between the discussions? Because sometimes it was quite weird ._. Just saying, it's not a major problem or anything.

And the discussions were great - really liked how you talk about games and suggest ideas how to improve them even though the games are pretty great as it is - keep it up!

Oh, and, Babylon Sticks is great ;)

Snikatron,

Wanted to answer a few of your questions... First we are aware of the volume issue and working real hard on getting that balanced, future episodes should be improved.

About the music, the music is pulled from each game we discuss, kind of like something to get you prepared for the talk... It's a bit off beat some times but I think it works for helping intro the talk.

Thanks! for the feedback, more input we get the better we can make the show! :-)

Nice discussion you guys, you should definitely have more developers on the show, it was very interesting hearing how Company of Myself was made.

Do you take requests for games to talk about by any chance?
