Hi! The latest Weekdsay Escape just arrived!
This week we get two pleasant surprises - two developers let know about themselves after a long pause. The first is Coconuts Park with a remake of their nine years old game. Still lovely. Amajeto presents escape from their living room, good as always, and then you find yourself trapped in Selfdefiant's park at night. The second pleasant surprise is the latest Yonashi. Well done with good art and very creative.
Have a good time and enjoy!
Cute Coconuts Park's games weren't accessible for some time and seemed to be lost forever. Well, you never know, apparently - here is the first episode and hopefully 57 episodes ahead! Short escape game introduces two piggies and apart from few simple puzzles you learn something about the piggies' private life. Not much different from humans I have to say.
The cursor is changing, no save button, one ending.
The latest Amajeto's elegant apartment consists of two rooms again. You get the usual dose of puzzles, excellent graphics and finally we may take a look at the picture which we complete at the end.
The cursor isn't changing, no save button, one ending.
You woke up in Selfdefiant's park after a day of fun...and the park is closed. Locked. Let's not question why you just don't climb over that low wall or use the prybar you've found on the padlock - probably because there wouldn't be any game - and go to explore the park at night. You need to find few items and solve few puzzles to get the key but you'll be out soon..
The cursor is changing, autosave, one ending.
It's been a year since we heard last from Yonashi. This week they are back with original and clever game which isn't about solving puzzles only but about developing your creativity, too. Right at the beginning you find a cutter and then you can cut and cut and cut...and also make some origami! Authors balanced the difficulty very well - the puzzles are intuitive and not too easy, and finding solution feels so satisfying. Wish there were more games like this one.
The cursor isn't changing, no save button, one ending.
BONUS: Here is the latest puzzle game by Ninjadoodle: ClickPlayTime Issue #1. Should be 26 levels - can't confirm didn't get past the 22.
We love escape games, and our readers love talking about them and sharing hints! How about you? Let us know what you think, ask for clues, or help out other players in the comments below.
Hmmm. Stuck near the end on Wallpaper. I have
four green balls, an exacto knife, and a sheet of paper with a number clue (used to be an origami frog).
The only clues I haven't used yet are the frying pan drawing on the wall, and the four doors with colors beneath them.
I can't find anything else to click, and those things don't seem to help!
About frying pan...
look at the wallpapers' patterns
there is a pink one with white stripes...
what does it resemble?
well, a little bit...use imagination!
a bacon!
zoom at that small door with nine buttons
look at the right edge of the gamescreen
you can cut out a piece of bacon-like wallpaper there
fry it!
Ah! I can't believe I missed that! Thanks, chrpa!
About a number clue...
do the math
567467
look at the number - it has only four digits...
...and there are only four doors
how to pair them?
think about geometric shapes
4 is square, 5 is pentagon etc.
look at the colors of wallpapers with geometric shapes
squares are on the green wallpaper, pentagons on the blue one etc.
combine the number clue with geometric shapes colors
blue, purple, orange, green, purple, orange
I almost missed it too :-)
Sooo ... chrpa, You didn't get past level 22 of ClickPlay?! Ha! I can't get past level 8. Call me dim, but I'm totally stumped. And I know it's probably something extraordinarily simple.
About level 8
think about roman numerals
V I V I V
group them according to the clue 2-1-2
654
Thanks Chrpa. Okay --I get it -- but it's still a stretch of logic imo.
looking forward to these :)
If the game/page loads in Japanese, you can change it to English in the top-right corner of the page.
Escape from my Friend's Room
Exploration
(The entire game fits on one screen, so you won't have to turn around.)
A locked box sits in front of a bed, and you can move the pillows on top of and leaning against the bed to reveal 2 star pieces.
Next to that is Booca on a carpet, with the dial in front having four dials. Take the chair on the right.
And lift the right corner of the carpet to find a note that you can unfold to find a helpful clue.
On the right is the room door, but since your goal isn't to escape the game won't even change your cursor there. Under the wall clock, there's a bookshelf with an interesting drawer that has four colored buttons.
The table behind the pig has four circular marks, an empty basin, and a drawer containing a star piece.
You also see a star piece in the jar on the shelf, but you can't reach it.
Above
Place the chair on the desk, then click the jar to bring it down. Take the star piece.
Four colors
Use the clue from the bookshelf to unlock it:
Press the buttons in order according to the books.
3 2 4 3 1 2
Take a lighter and water bottle.
Ceremony
Use the clue from the note to do something with the items you have.
(Or you can just guess the steps without reading the note.)
Fill the bowl with water, place all four star pieces in them, and use the lighter on them.
That gives you a clue to unlock the blue box:
The remaining parts of the stars are the
Bottom-left, Top, Left, Bottom-right
(3 0 4 2 clicks)
Take the key and unlock the chest to get a doll, then give it to the Booca to end the game!
Beige and Grey
Exploration
In between two armchairs, a bowl of colored balls has a square tile leaning against them. Each of the framed pictures can be flipped to reveal a letter on a colored background.
Turn right to face windows looking out onto an amazing landscape. The cupboards on the left have colored square buttons that grow when clicked and letter buttons. The cupboards on the right have beige and grey buttons as well as four digit buttons.
Turn right to face two locked doors. In the middle, a picture is missing several tiles. A cupboard with four color buttons has a digital clock that doesn't seem to work very well.
Turn right to face a television screen that's turned off. Four colorful figures are lined up on a shelf, and their heads change color when clicked.
Four colors (twice)
You'll need the clues from the
bowl of balls and the framed pictures above it.
For the leftmost cupboard (on the window screen):
The largest ball is blue, followed by red, yellow, green.
Click the buttons (from left to right)
0, 2, 1, 3 times.
Inside, you find a square tile and a key.
For the cupboard between the doors:
The backs of the pictures are
Blue Pink Green Orange
(5 3 6 1 clicks)
Inside, you find a square tile and remote control.
Screen / Exploration 2
Use the remote to turn on the TV, and
use it on the TV again to view the other clue.
Also, use the key to unlock the left door.
In this room, a wall shelf has two compartments whose locks have a grid of buttons and a set of four dials. The bed on the right is uninteresting except for the light switch on the right wall.
Three cupboards
For the remaining cupboards in the first room, you'll need clues from the
TV, framed pictures, digital clock, and a particular spot in the second room.
For the second-left cupboard:
The first clue on the TV tells you to count backwards in the alphabet.
Using the letters (HSFZ) from the framed pictures, you find that the letters preceding them in the alphabet are
G, R, E, Y
For the second-right cupboard:
You're looking for a row of beige and grey things.
The balls on the shelf in the second room are
Grey Beige Beige Grey Beige
(RLLRL)
For the rightmost cupboard:
The clock shows all horizontal lines normally and some vertical lines when clicked.
You can figure out what the lines form when read together, or if you click very rapidly you might be able to read the answer out:
2359
You get a total of 3 square tiles.
Walk and roll
Use the clue
from the second screen of the TV
to unlock the walking men:
The clue looks like four round heads and four square bodies.
From left to right, the colors of the heads should match those of the 3rd, 1st, 4th, 2nd bodies:
Pink Brown Yellow Grey
(4 8 2 7 clicks)
The figures move their legs, and you can use that clue to unlock the right shelf compartment in the second room:
Set the dials to the
Left, Bottom-left, Bottom, Right
(6 5 4 2 clicks)
Take another square tile.
Grid / Complete
Use a clue
above the bed in the second room
to unlock the left shelf compartment in the second room:
After flipping the switch on the right wall, six panels light up:
L - - L
- L L -
- L - L
Take the last square tile.
Now that you have all the square tiles, you can place them in the final puzzle and solve it:
Rotate the tiles
3 1 1 2
0 2 1 3
3 2 0 2
1 3 1 2
times.
Take the gold key, then use it to unlock the door and escape!
Thanks KK. Looking forward to the other 2.
Level 22 ClickPlay
Drag the boulder twice from a corner to roll it onto the button then press the button to launcch the car over the boulder. You need to be really quick.
Thanks :-)
Whoops, got the title wrong above!
Summer Night Escape
Exploration
On this screen with a locked gate and dirty sign, move both bushes to find a crowbar/pry bar.
[Right] There's a sign and a tree with a backpack stuck in it.
[Up] The bathhouse has a locked door, and you can take an acorn on the right.
[Down, Right] You can pull the branches of the tree.
[Up] The raccoon asks for three acorns.
[Right] At the end of the bridge, a tree has an arrow clue.
[Right] A dam has a huge rock looking out of place.
Flow
Use the crowbar on the dam to release the river. The spring water is hot.
[Left] Take an acorn from the stream.
Binary tree / Exploration 2
Use the clue from the
tree on the bridge screen
to unlock the tree with loose branches (south of the raccoon):
Click the RLRRLLLR branches.
Take the acorn that appears.
Give all three acorns to the raccoon, who offers you a black key, and now you can proceed.
[Up] This tent has a four-digit lock. There's an unlit campfire on the left.
[Down, Down, Left, Up]
Also use the black key to unlock the bathhouse, where a wet towel rests on a bench.
Clean / Close
Use the wet towel (without anything else) to clean the sign beside the gate on the first screen, which shows you the opening hours.
Then use that clue to open the tent:
Doing the math, you find that the park is open for a total of 13 hours and 35 minutes every day.
Enter 1335.
You find a yellow paddle.
High / Light
Use the paddle to get the backpack from the tree near the direction sign.
It's locked with four arrow buttons, so use the clue from
the direction sign
to unlock it:
The corner of the sign tells you to consider the alphabetical order.
So Bathhouse (with a B) comes first, followed by Camping, Exit, Nature Trail.
Make the arrows point URLR, then flip the switch.
Take a lighter, then bring it to the tent and light the campfire.
This reveals a gold key. Use it on the gate to escape!
WALL PAPER
Exploration
You start off facing a door… what is even happening here? Since it's pretty mind-bending to imagine that the entire game appears on wallpaper, I'll pretend that the bottom half of the screen is carpeted floor.
The door extends into the floor, and one section of the door has a different pattern of triangles from the rest. The left side of the wall has a drawing of a mouse holding a green bead that looks very three-dimensional. The right side has a compartment with a cutter knife. (There's something particular about where it's placed, but I'll leave it for later.)
Turn right. The compartment on the left has some curved octagons, white stripes, and two lights next to a small hole. On the right, you can look at the ground and then at a drawing of an egg over a frying pan.
Turn right. There's a compartment with five sliders, a box with a grid of nine buttons, and a picture of a bear jumping of a chair.
Turn right. There are four trapdoors in the floor, one missing its handle. There are two drawings, one of animals and one of a hole in the ground surrounded by plants. And there's a window you can open and zoom on its corner for some reason.
Sharp
Each of the dotted outlines tells you where you can use the cutter:
In the purple compartment beside the door, cut the bottom.
In the blue compartment with stripes, zoom in on the buttons and cut the left wall there.
Under the frying pan, cut the yellow floor in the bottom right.
On the right of the grid safe, cut the red floor.
You get 4 paper pieces that are white, yellow, red, blue.
The white one looks a bit unusual:
Clicking it reveals a faint network of lines, and clicking again folds it.
(Is that the actual pattern required to fold an origami crane?)
You get a paper crane.
Foodie / Nature
You'll need the four paper items you just got.
For the mouse:
Use the yellow piece on the X.
Since this is supposed to be a trap, back out, turn left, turn right, and zoom back in. The mouse has moved!
For the frying pan:
Use the red piece on the X.
Mmm, eggs and bacon. But there was something weird in the egg!
For the bamboo-surrounded pit:
Use the blue piece on the X.
A tree grows up and you can click on it!
You found 3 green beads one from each of these.
For the window:
Place the crane on the windowsill, and it flies out!
Back out, turn right, and turn left to make it come back.
Take a spoon.
Grid / Stripes / Hole
Use the clue from
the door
to unlock the grid safe:
The numbers of triangles on the door are
6 7 2
4 1 9
3 8 5
Push the buttons in those positions, from 1 to 9.
Inside, you find a box with a red button. Place that button in the
compartment with stripes (above the star-patterned floor)
and push it to get a clue and a green bead.
Then use that clue to unlock the slider compartment:
(The stripe compartment was a top-down view of a zebra crossing with five umbrellas moving across.)
From left to right, the umbrellas have moved to the
2nd, 5th, 4th, 2nd, 1st
stripes from the top.
Click the sliders
1 4 3 1 0 times.
The inside of this seems to have a hole leading nowhere, but you also see that you can use
the cutter on the dashed green circle and white square
to get 2 paper pieces. As before, one of them
is an origami paper that folds
so you can get a paper frog!
Use the frog on the mousehole. You'll have to back out, turn left, and turn right.
Open the compartment again, and you'll find the paper frog now has a clue on it, and it has brought back a handle.
Turned
Now that you have the
spoon and green circle
you can use them with the remaining wallpaper drawings. Specifically:
On the bear picture, place the spoon on the X and then the green circle on the new X.
This gets you a green bead.
Math
Place the handle on the top-right trapdoor, then use the clue from the unfolded frog to solve the puzzle.
The sum works out to 567467.
Each of the colors on the floor appears as a background to a certain wallpaper pattern. The green, blue, purple, red patterns use polygons with 4, 5, 6, 7 sides.
Click the
UR LL LR UL LL LR
trapdoors.
This reveals five small holes. And if you've been following along, you should have five green beads to place in them!
This gets you a golden key. Use it to unlock the door and leave.
