When a deadly parasite infestation begins sweeping through a massive tree, crippling it and gradually killing off its inhabitants, heroes are found in the most unlikely of places.
Five tiny friends band together to save one last seed and find the source of the monstrous parasites in this surreal point-and-click adventure from Amanita Design that is by turns stunning, otherworldly, engrossing, and even a little frightening. With rich, unique environmental design that crafts an alien world that feels natural and full of wonder to explore, as well a compelling story told entirely without words (and more than a few secrets to discover!) it delivers one of the most rewarding and mesmerizing point-and-click adventure experiences you can encounter at any age. Amanita Design is already known for such well-loved hits as Machinarium and Samorost, and here they've managed to add yet another jewel to their crown that any gamer would be proud to have in their collection. Botanicula takes the well-deserved prize of being voted Game of the Year by our audience in 2012! Congratulations to developer, Amanita Design!
I'm curious. What were the numbers 2 3 4 and 5 for the Game of the Year category?
Grats to Botanicula :)
Curious also too about the other rankings, and also I know it is far too late now, but when I voted for game of the year did it automatically get voted in category ?
Yes, when voting for GotY one vote also goes to the same game in its category.
We won't be releasing any additional results, or a top 5 for GotY, I'm sorry. To do so, I believe, would take away from the Game of the Year winner.
True, but it would add to the four games that almost made it. :)
Congratulations to the guys at Amanita. They totally deserve the cake.
Congrats to Aminita! Especially because I was one of the votes to put Botanicula in game of the year!
Truly one of the best games I've played for a long time, with great music and graphics, challenging gameplay, enjoyable and often surprising exploration. Great work!
Nice, I can get on board with this, even though I voted for a different game. Congrats everyone!!
Congrats to Botanicula and everyone at Amanita design!
Just a question for Jay and everyone at JIG, wouldn't it be easier to allow people only to vote once? I always have to force myself to remember to come voting more than once and the process is a bit long.
I'm assuming it allows people to vote for several games but then, that could be one of the options of a single-voting system.
When mystery man comes to the door to but all collectibles, should I sell them to him or decline?
PrincessJMB -
That sounds like a Virtual Families 2 question, you might want to go to that discussion page. And only sell the collectibles if you want to go through the trouble of collecting them again and you need the money.
hmm, just 1. It'd better be a top 5 or top 10 games.
