Very polished. It's like a million games in one. It melts one's brain in a good way.
Bug: Play Again option does not work if you try to submit a high score. You have to go back to main menu to play again.
Fun. Kind of reminds me of those side-scrollers where you have to avoid obstacles in a helicopter or whatever, except vertical. But the variety of power-ups and the polish give it an edge. Good, simple fun.
It's so polished 'cause it's a re-make of something that had already been done.
I always had a problem with the collision detection in the first one. This is much improved, and very enjoyable.
But then, the mechanic was already proven to be solid...
It's sequel to his own game. I doubt it's even something he made specifically for this competition. Fun, though.
I really liked the different music for the different powerups. Also Noir was really cool.
I agree with Psychotronic. Although the game is fun, I have to call shenanagins on it as a contest entry. It is nearly identical to hie earlier game. You could hardly even call it a sequel, more of an upgrade. I really don't think it is right to place this in a contest where entrants were given a time limit because the code is nearly identical.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy this game and many of Manuel's others, I just don't think it is right for this competition.
Just tried "sugar rush" mode. Very good but you can't access it from this version (have to go to mindistortion, which is a bit strange.
Apart from that, its really quite a good game. Noir looks so cool.
Wraparound feels iffy but otherwise very fun!
The Loading time via my computer is FOREVER!
It's not like that with any other game...
For your atttention...
(To Tell The Truth, I am still waiting for it to load...)
Ok,tell me anyone who didn't discover this in the first place. I saw a powerup that WASN'T in the instructions. I will call these powerups Superpowerups. So far, I have seen one Superpowerup called Ultimate Bullet Time, which will slow everything so much, the screen doesn't seem to move at all. The bubbles, the mines, the powerups, the background, everything will slow down to quarter the normal speed (except you, which will slow down to three-fourths the normal speed). Comment here about more Superpowerups.
VERY cool.
i finished with 1060
Where's the physics? Bubbles and this sequel are good games, but they're not physics games. The flow is completely linear.
This is the same as the first game with more powerups and worse music. I'm a fan of Fallman but I'll pass on this "sequel".
I really don't see the ball physics either. Except for maybe the gravity ball..thats about the only implementation of ball physics i see...
I agree with some of the others, this "sequal" is too similar to the original game and it isn't fair that it gets submitted into this contest. I played the original game and remembered it well.
If people donate to this designer for this game then he is taking money away from some of the other designers who entered this contest and deserve it more.
Yeah, this is pretty cheap as a contest entry. The lack of ball physics, I can live with (given that there's at least some attempt to make it in there, and that the quality makes up for it); the lack of big changes/innovations that are intended to make sequels, you know, something even more special than the first instead of *just* more of the same, I can handle (not the first time this has happened, though it's not something I really want devs to do); putting the two together and calling it a contest entry for real money, on the other hand, is not something I like at all. It's a real shame because Fallman is good at doing things like this and if it'd just been another game on his site getting a mention I'd have been fine with it; it isn't really a 'sequel' as mentioned but the mechanic's fine and worth the polish. There's a fair chance this was, to him, just a "Might as well throw it here and see what happens since I wanted to do this anyway" type thing, but it would have been nice to see more effort on a different idea rather than polish on an old one; the other entries so far have made that effort, why couldn't this one have done so as well?
There is some physics there. Your bubble has momentum, and when bouncy you will bounce off the walls. Also, the gravity/repel powerups implement some simple physics.
My problem with the game is that it essentially becomes impossible once you get really big, since you can't dodge at all, unless you get some specific powerups (like invincibility, repel mines, and a few others). And since the powerups seem to be randomly chosen, it just becomes luck once you reach a certain point.
Still, very fun, the noir and minesweeper powerups were a lot of fun. ;)
My best: 3447
Competition issues aside, I liked the basic idea of the game. It's a fun toy but it seems to me that a highscore is based on luck rather than skill. It needs a "shrink" powerup added to the arsenal.
Anyone try to beat this high-score: 2504.
Any Cheats?
4,978 High Score No joke I did it
