cquence

Lori.hEverything in Roshka Studios' Cquence, also for iOS and Android, seems beautifully simple. From the graphics to the whole goal of this puzzle game. This slickly designed game has you trying to achieve one goal, and that is to create a path to the numbers that come next in the series. If, for example, you had numbers one and five on the board, clicking a tile adjacent to the one would turn that tile to a two, and then the next adjacent tile you clicked to a three, and so on, with your goal of making an unbroken, connected sequence of numbers from one to five. Time is always ticking down, though, so you need to be quick to raise your score and see how many levels you can beat as the chains become longer and take a bit more thought process to get through. Play online or on your mobile device alike, where you can challenge your friends to see who can do better or just have it for those times when you need a break but want to keep your mind still active. The free price tag and the infinite random levels just makes it all better.

Tapping boxes to create a path with the right number in it sounds almost effortless, and some levels are, especially in the beginning. The soft music leads you into a relaxed feeling and you may find yourself wondering when things are actually going to get involved... and then you'll notice the blue time running around the level number. Though you gain back time with each successful completion, the timer doesn't restart with each level. Suddenly the pressure is on, and you'll find the "piece-of-cake" puzzles suddenly make your mind trip up and falter when it had no issues before. There is a handy undo button, but it doesn't restore any of the precious seconds you really need. It's the time of the game that really makes this game so brilliant, because the puzzle of getting to the next number isn't something that takes great brain strength, but instead sees how quick you can think on your feet. As the blue circle becomes closer and closer to completion, you'll find the simple answers slipping from your grasp. Cquence is a great puzzle game that works for those on all brain levels that will have you'll enjoying trying again and again to beat your last score.

This seems fun, but every time I get to about level 14 or 15, I hit a level where there is no 1, and clicking anywhere just leads to an error sound, and my time ticks away until I lose. A glitch? This is playing the flash online version.

I has the same problem as you, baileydonk. In Chrome.
I don't know if there's any other way to complete a level other than clicking a box next to the 1 and keep going in order from then.

It wasn't interesting enough to make me want to keep trying after the first time I flunked a level just because there wasn't a 1 button to start with.

I'm using firefox and also have the same problem :(
I just got to Lvl 20 and was like: "Wtf? Is this some kind of higher difficulty? Invisible 1? o_O Where do I start now?" XD
But on the next try, it worked... Seems like it's happening at random.
The game itself is quite nice and fun to play, during a short break and along with a cup of coffee, but it's kinda frustrating, when any level can completely bust your try with that glitch :( Too bad... :/

Not bad, though I lost interest pretty quickly: the puzzles themselves never get too difficult, so the clock is your only real challenge. If you prefer harder puzzles in this same vein, but generally without the time pressure, make sure you try Hidato (aka Numbrix/Jadium/Snakepit/Number Snake).
