digfender

Lori.hThe enemies are getting smarter and smarter these days. No longer are they following a set trail heading right for your kingdom. Oh no, they are much sneakier. This time they are coming from below. Thankfully, your kingdom is even sneakier, and has found out their plan ahead of time. Start digging downward, set up your towers, and and blow them back down into the earth in Mugshot Games' Digfender. This tower defense game, free for iOS and Android, is like a rebirth of Castlemine with better graphics and more enemies. The gameplay is still the same, however, as not only do you need to figure out which towers work best for the current level, but also dig up the path for the enemies to crawl along.

digfendersWhat clearly makes Digfender stick out from other tower defense games is the fact that you have to create the way forward. But with solid rock and lava patches you have to work around, and not to mention the tempting piles of resources that make the route more difficult, it's not as simple to make the best path. There are also treasure maps, which are usually placed in an area that doesn't make the most strategic way for you, but worth the difficulty increase as they let you see, when you replay, the hidden paths that lead to the cursed coins. Cursed coins are used for bigger and better upgrades, but when you collect a piece they add a buff to the enemies. You never know what the buff is, so you have to be prepared on all accounts. Though you have eleven lives, represented as towers and a freebie that is the gate, they can go rather fast, especially with the bigger enemies who take more than one life when they crash into safe houses. You'll need all four elemental towers, your traps, and your special one shot abilities bought with diamonds to keep your people safe. There are no wait timers and only a small ad banner at the bottom. Occasionally, it will have a pop-up ad for its own special items you can use in game and are permanent additions, like new castles with special abilities. But you don't have to spend a penny to enjoy this strategy game. All 60+ levels are yours to enjoy, and if you still can't get enough, there is an endless challenge mode where you can challenge your friends to beat your score. But most importantly keep any monster from entering your castle to make sure you get all three shiny gold stars. With no timers to wait on and limited ads, you don't have to pay a penny to enjoy all sixty levels of this game, not to mention the endless mode if you just can't get enough!

I love the cross-genre of the Miner + the tower defense. It would make more sense if they would allow you to craft with the items that were dug out of the dirt by the creeps

It's really amazing how Digfender received 20 votes in just a few hours of the review release, all 5s as well! Could it be that people really like this game? Or rather, could it be that the devs are total scumbags?

Yeah, I know which one I believe. 23 votes in the first 12 hours, then only 2 more votes in the next 4 days. Screw you, Mugshot Games.

I don't think it is anything bad Mugshot Games is doing. He has a good community who like his games. Maybe he has a big family who he got to vote.
