Lindsay LaPlante and the artistic stylings of Jimp bring colourful, cute arcade avoidance game Dots: Revamped to infuriating life. It's simple... just eat all the blue dots while avoiding the green. But! Eating a blue dot spawns an enemy green one that moves around the screen, and enrages the baddies until they start moving faster, and since a single hit means KO, you'll need to be quick and agile. Fortunately, if you get enough blue dots, you can activate Rainbow Mode, which temporarily makes you able to kill any green dots you run into. Of course, getting a high score unlocks new characters to play as, who not only look different, but may be faster and smaller, and catching keys will unlock passive bonuses to equip. Even with the extra difficulties and unlockables, Dots: Revamped is likely still going to be too simple for some, but others will find the simplicity coupled with the snappy soundtrack and eye-catching art addictive indeed. Low on complexity but big on charm and zip, Dots: Revamped is a fun little arcade game that will make the time fly by.
Very enjoyable, and very hard to finish. My only quibble is the series of clicks you have to go through to simply reset the same level, same settings as before. After you die, you should be able to just hit R or something to keep the flow going. This is the type of game that needs a quick reset.
I agree with silent george, and want to add that it's super annoying to have to switch between mouse and keyboard between stages. This really should have been implemented as a keyboard only game.
