Galaxy Siege first got a sequel, and now it has turned into a trilogy. Galaxy Siege 3 is here with more planets to clear from the evil alien scum, more gems to collect, and another ship to build in some of the most unflattering shapes yet. Denis Vasilev's arcade game has some minor improvements on the first but is still the upgrade filled, action packed game. With over 100 levels you'll have plenty of chances to gather gems to buy your weapons and other supplies needed to make it to the boss and send it flying out into the great abyss. Galaxy Siege 3 keeps the core elements of the game, but some alterations that build on this scifi series. Now less of a rail shooter, you move your ship at the speed you want to go using the [arrow] keys, [WASD], or even the mouse, making it easier to collect gems and crystals which help your scientist build bigger and better guns so you can keep your onslaught going.
In the beginning, Galaxy Siege 2 and Galaxy Siege 3 seem rather similar, but then the differences will begin to pop up. There are no more stores for you together to unlock your upgrades, which keeps you from grinding to get the good stuff. Instead, when you defeat the end boss in each planet, you get a choice between two upgrades to unlock. It makes it more of a strategy then just "gather all you can and buy the biggest, baddest weapon". Another difference is just how clean the screens are now. It's cleaner and just more appealing to look at. Also, adding onto your ship is no longer tedious. If you want to add a gun, just drag over the icon to where you want it, and the other blocks will slide out of the way, instead of popping back into your inventory. All these changes just help make the game more enjoyable, though there is still a fault with this game. Things start becoming a little redundant. Each boss is similar to the last only with one new additional attack. It wouldn't be so bad, but with over 100 levels it probably would have been better for them to concentrate on keeping things fresh instead of keeping things going. That being said, it's still enjoyable for what it is. That being a bright and vibrant action adventure where you get the joy of blowing up every living thing in your path while still being the good guy.
