Skatefall is John Freeborn's tribute to one of the earliest platformers, the Atari 2600's Pitfall! With a bodacious new skateboard, online scoreboard, bonus items and powerups, 2D platforming has a new name: Skatefall Harry.
Tap the [right] or [left] arrow to move in either direction, and keep pressing the button to gain and keep up your speed. Press the [spacebar] to jump.
As a homage, Skatefall is extremely effective and faithful; the graphics and sound are perfect and the difficulty, while formidable, is appropriate. To be honest, I haven't been able to make it to very many of its 255 levels yet, so I can't say if vines and alligators make an appearance, but here's hoping they do.
Cheers to Drew and Andrew for suggesting this one! =)
I remember this! The days of Atari! Pixelated goodness.
Kudos to John.
Kudos to Noah for reviewing it.
I have to go play my little heart out. ;)
wayyyyy to hard for me!
It's a nice game, but TRY to skate to the left. I dare you.
You go SO FAST you can ollie over 3 screens.
Oh, and...
I just found the alligators. XD
This is such a simple game, with 3 button controls, but is way too much fun :)
This is like a bastard child of Pitfall and Skate Rock, two of my beloved games from good old C64.
Skate Rock was a particularly great game. Tight controls, jump ramps, time limits, great level design.. man I loved that game. In fact, I think I'm gonna scrounge a bit and try to find it, this game really made me wanna try Skate Rocking again after all these years.
If I don't succede at first,
It seems I Die, Die again...
ah well. good game
Hehe, tough game. Simple...but addictive.
I got the same score as in the screenshot, 4000 XD go figure!
