Final Ninja Zero
What's better than a game about a shuriken-chuckin', rope-swingin' cyber-ninja with green glowing eyes and powers of invisibility? Two games about that ninja. Nitrome's Final Ninja Zero is a prequel to Final Ninja, our choice and yours for browser-based platform game of 2008. It's 20 more levels of explosions, stealth, and lasers, with plenty of new surprises to befuddle and destroy you.
Steer your ninja with the [arrow] keys or [WASD]. Aim and throw stars by tapping the mouse button. Hold the button to extend a climbing rope that sticks into walls. Press [down] to activate your cloaking device, which is a very cool effect that warps lasers around you, and of course prevents sensors from spotting you and setting off nasty alarms.
Zero tells the story of our hero Takeshi 40 years before the vendetta against his master Akuma, back when he worked as a mercenary for the espionage department of a powerful mega-corporation. During his first mission against rival Food Pharma Corp, a mission which somehow involves both samurai and hamburgers, a mysterious force incapacitates him, and he finds himself imprisoned within blah blah blah blah there are cyborg ninja monkeys!
Did you hear me? Cyborg. Ninja. Monkeys. Play this game and you get to fight them.
You also get to dodge behind pipes to hide from snipers, who this time around have infrared scopes so they can still find you when you're cloaked. You get to disguise yourself as a surprisingly nimble scientist. You get to hack into remote-controlled mines and fly them around like your own personal carrier pigeons made of dynamite.
Gee, that sounds like fun!
It sure is, Betsy. Final Ninja Zero may not be a giant leap forward from its cyber-pappy, but it's still a fantastic game. Not exactly a casual game, mind you. About a quarter of the way through, you'll already need some serious platforming skills or you're ninja dust. But the challenge is how you know you're a true warrior, from the first tricky wall jump past a cutting laser to the slightly disappointing final boss.
Analysis: Wait, what? Yes, Betsy, there are some disappointments. While the first half of Final Ninja Zero offers non-stop shocks and thrills, introducing new enemies and abilities regularly and putting you through a gauntlet of tight and focused levels, the second half… doesn't. The new ideas just stop, and everything from the first half gets recycled, but five times more difficult.
Mind you, it doesn't become a bad game at that point, by any means. It just comes down off the crest of the wave that it was riding so effortlessly. That's the curse of platform games: they don't stand up well under the weight of repetition.
The other big problem, as before, is that a browser window surrounded by clickable ads is very badly suited for a game where you're clicking around all the time. Unless you can engineer a clever solution, be prepared to occasionally take a sudden break from dueling with samurai to plan your vacation in sunny Arizona.
Golly, that sounds discouraging!
Don't be crazy, Betsy. Final Ninja Zero is still one of the finest platforming action games you can play in a browser. It's so fun just leaping around spewing ninja stars, even a one-on-one battle with a machine-gun toting grunt is a blast. The infamous Nitrome difficulty, the gorgeous Nitrome artwork, and the bizarro Nitrome pacing are all part of the experience. Once again, this development team proves they possess the powers of incredible action-adventure. The rest of the internet would do well to infiltrate their lair and steal their secret.
Hint: the secret is cyborg ninja monkeys.
This game is fantastic.
Is today suddenly the best day ever?
Yes, yes it is. Final Ninja was, by a wide margin, my favorite of all the games I've found on JiG.
Too bad I have to go to work.
final ninja sequel! Awesome
It's really good. A bit hard though.
I wonder if someday, SOMEDAY, the people at Nitrome will figure out that a game in which you can't choose your keyboard setting is a lousy game.
I won't rate this game for now, I feel too lazy to change my entire system's keyboard layout to play it, and playing with mouse + arrows sucks, so I didn't go far into the game.
Even if it were the best game ever, I would rate it 4/5 at most, for not having a keyboard setting option.
Looks like a wicked cool game, but I think y'all need to add a new tag: nottouchpadfriendly.
It's just way too hard to get accurate throws when I'm forced to use my left hand for the touch pad. Maybe I need to learn to be ambidextrous.
Looks cool though. Will try out when I get on a big machine.
@ Schmorgluck
you can also you WSAD
nice game and great new music!
Awesome game, but I got through it easily. But, the problem with me is that I run away or through all obstacles. It works. mostly.
i loved the first final ninja game, and i think that it is one of nitromes best games, and i absolutely love final ninja zero. i have paused the game to write this review after seeing the background of the outside that nitrome created. im only on the 5th level i think so i don't know how the gameplay will progress but so far i love it!
now that i think of it, are there any secret levels in the sequel? i haven't found any...
I can't get past the final boss thing.
how do you even hurt the machine? i killed the two guys already.
Julian, to use WASD I'd have to change my keyboard layout. That's exactly what I was complaining about.
I loved all the new things they added- especially the hacked mines, those were my FAVORITE- but I have to admit that the music really, really sucked. Compare the music and scenery to the first, and for me the first wins hands down. Otherwise, the game was a great way for me to satisfy my final ninja addiction.
@Triprudelops and all those having trouble with the final boss:
To destroy him, you only need to hack the green mines coming from the sides of the elevator. Then, you ram into the boss to hurt him. Do it 5 times to win. However, the guys will shoot at the mine too, which can ultimately hit you, so you should take them out. Be quick!
Hope that helped. And, Sonrisa_bonita, there aren't any secret levels. Ever.
I'm only on level 9, but I still love it. I thoroghly enjoyed the original, now I have another reason to love Nitrome. The background art is incredible.
I have yet to meet those cyborg ninja monkeys, but now I have another reason to keep playing. :P
I didn't think they would make another Final Ninja game, as it was the FINAL ninja. Happily, I was wrong. I'm stuck on the 13th level. It it ridiculously hard. I think maybe this game is a little too hard.
Final Ninja is still the final Final Ninja. Final Ninja Zero comes before Final Ninja, as indicated by the numbering. The chronology thus far:
Final Ninja Zero -- 0.
Final Ninja -- unknown.
So theoretically, they could fit an infinite number of Final Ninjas into the space between Final Ninja Zero and Final Ninja, without damaging the integrity of the original, that is to say final, Final Ninja.
I'm hoping they do it with fractions.
I loved Final Ninja, glad there's another one! I agree, this one is harder, but not ridiculously so.
Currently I'm stuck on level...9, i think. Grr, those dumb clone/scientist people...
WASD+mouse is a lot easier than arrows+mouse. I don't really get what you're complaining about, Shmorgluck.
Level 7 with the infrared snipers was hard enough to make me ragequit. I couldn't jump from wall-to-wall fast enough to avoid the stupid sniper targeting.
I seem to have this problem with many nitrome games. I'll play through several levels and at some point it'll become difficult enough that I just give up.
Maybe they need an "easy " setting for more casual gamers like me.
Anyone having problems with clicking side links accidentally, or clicking outside of the window?
In Firefox, you can hold Ctrl and roll you mouse wheel to zoom. Stretch the window to a comfortable size, fullscreen if you wish, and then ctrl-zoom to fill the area.
Woohool! Another Final Ninja game! =D
About the ads, I actually sent an email sugesting them to, at least, leave a wider space between the game window and the ads.
I love this game!!
It actually is sort of easier since im on level 14 and i only got to level 11 on final ninja
I like the new stuff and added effects
I have met the CYBORG MOnkeys!! They are.. weird...
other than that the mines that you hack into are a little sensitive tochy to the obstacles but i dont mind
The only thing i dont like are the ads..
I cant make the moving ads low quality and so it constantly freezes my game for about 5 sec....
The term "Final Ninja" does not refer to the finality of the game, it in fact refers to Takeshi. It means that he is the last, or final, ninja left on the planet. Therefore they chould make more final ninja games as sequals as long as they don't make a new ninja character.
I was surprised that they included the speedy wall climb in the game messages. I discovered the technique in the first game and was enjoying showing off my secret skills. Now everbody can discover it.
@fleebnork:
To avoid the snipers, just stand or hang behind the pipes.
love the game, but found a little bug on level 18 that let me skip it.
as soon as i got out of the lift, i went ahead and killed one guy, then went back and hopped up the elevator shaft as far as i could go, looking for cash and stuff. when i fell back down, the lift was back, and it took me to lvl 19. so all in all, about 10 seconds.
Yay! Final Ninja was such a fantastic game, I think my favourite from Nitrome behind Flipside, I'm insanely happy there's a sequel. Anyway, only just started, upto level 4.
Well, I've passed it. Still two games to go.
I think I liked this one better than the original. Was it just me, or were there fewer super-long levels that wear you down until your tongue falls out with the exasperation? Anyway, quite fun. As if fighting cyborg ninja monkeys (simians) wasn't fun enough, you get to fight WITH a cyborg ninja monkey. Although... she was a little troublesome. Once I got to the gate where you leave her behind, I came back, and she was GONE. Cruel world. Takeshi got depressed, so he jumped into some lasers.
I wonder if Nitrome is ever going to make a threequel?
Does anyone have a walkthrough for level 9? I can get the cloning ball things and make them work but what am I supposed to do as a clone?
I know the game calls them apes, but look at them. They've got long tails. They are so monkeys.
@ confused
if you're a clone the alarm won't go off when the scientists see you or when you pass a red laser. You have to walk past the scientists when you're a clone.
@Julian and bookworm: I think there is some confusion about what Schmorgluck is saying. Apparently he is using a keyboard layout other than QWERTY (perhaps Dvorak). What this means is that the WASD keys are not conveniently grouped together.
To get an idea of what Schmorgluck is saying, imagine trying to play the game with the following key configuration:
Up = ,
Right = H
Down = ;
Left = A
(This is what it would be like for a Dvorak user.)
The simple solution to this, of course, would be to allow the user to set a custom key configuration.
no credits?
Suho1004 explained quite accurately what my problem is, except my keyboard is no Dvorak, but a simple AZERTY (French layout).
There are several differences between a QWERTY keyboard and an AZERTY one, the most relevant here being that the letters A and Z are where the letters Q and W would be on the other keyboard. Which implies that if I were to play this game using WASD without tinkering first with my keyboard layout, it would be the equivalent, on a QWERTY keyboard, to have to press Z to go up and Q to go left.
I've grown tired of having to tinker with my keyboard layout just to play a game. That's why games using WASD without the option of changing the keys will never get a rating above 4 from me here.
So I'm having a bit of a problem on level 9. Maybe I struggle but I cannot figure out how to utilize the cloning orbs...I just can't pick it up or carry it or whatever. What am I doing wrong?
Hey, there's something wrong with it. It's a great game, only it runs a little slow on my laptopp. All the other nitrome games run great on mine, but this one, no matter how many times I reload the page, it doesn't work like the others >:( hhas anyone else had this problem?
I loved Final Ninja - in fact, it was my favorite game. Now, an excellent prequel is out! Yay! Help me, this is how to disguise yourself as a clone scientist.
Touch the purple power booster. You might have to jump to reach the booster. Next, when the first clone is facing right, stun him. Then, touch him while he is stunned and activate stealth. You'll be hidden from SWAT units, lasers, and clones for twenty seconds.
After looking through the levels, I have one thing to say:
On level 19, I made a coll little saying: Simian Spy is on your side
Also, I can say that once they upgraded practically every machine in the building, certain enemies were harder or impossible to kill in some levels.
Ah, I see. Sorry Schmorgluck, didn't understand the part about a different keyboard layout. In that case, programming your own controls would be helpful.
Found the cyborg ninja monkeys :D
And darn those dumb snipers, it took me forever before I realized they were robots, not people. Duh...smacks forehead.
@Schmorgluck: Then just get yourself a qwerty-keyboard if most games you play use WASD.
If you complete level 10 in the original final ninja akuma says: "you might have stopped robot alpha takeshi, but i will be back in robot zero!" Maybe that was a hint :P.
Ok, so after playing the level about 20 times, I finally made it past level 7 with the snipers.
Now I'm stuck on level 11 with all the !@#!@$!~@!#!@ lasers. >:(
on level 18 simply going back into the elevator you came from will get you past the level.
This game is proof that ninjas are way awesomer than pirates. This and Final Ninja (1).
cool there's a dirk valentine reference at the end of level 17 or 16. Maybe there's going to be a second part, it also says something about martians...hmm.
how many levels are there?
There are 22 levels. Or 23, if you count level 00.
AI companions get introduced towards the end of the game as well as one level near the end where you fight the the samurai from the first game, and apparently the ideas stop? Oh well, I tried.
Keyboard customisation in free games is almost non existant. And it's time consuming to implement. Maybe on the next keyboard project I'll have time to put in an options screen - but it bears appreciation that it's a fairly big feature that needs to be accessible in game if it's there at all. And once it's in one game, then it'll become a standard and a pain in the butt to implement every time. It's something that needs to be considered carefully.
I'm glad people are having fun with it anyway and I hope this tides people over till we've recovered enough to work on Dirk 2. Thanks. (And stop calling me Betsy.)
Well.. the difficulty curve is definitely a little unbalanced. Fun soon becomes frustration as we need to memorize every movement though each level.
The gameplay is amazing! And so was the previous game. But my impression is that the level design is the one to blame here.
Any tips for level 19?
I really have no complaints. A great game from beginning to end.
Hey, Steed. I did appreciate the AI companions. I did. But (remembering that this is just one person's opinion, here) they didn't seem like a substantial addition to the gameplay. The main one just kind of slows down the level, since the extent of your involvement with her is "Wait until she cleans out a room. Proceed."
However, I did really like that you attempted to tell a story through interaction, rather than just words. More of that in future games, please.
really stuck on level 7 and the annoying snipers ...
At the end of Dirk Valentine, it says that he has has a problem in Dirk Valentine and the Martian Underworld. There will definitely be a second DV. This game shows us that it will be out soon.
Final Ninja 1 is final. Because when you kill Akuma in the end, it says "The Final Kill of the Final Ninja." But I still think that Nitrome should have Final Ninja fractions, like 0.5 (maybe that could be his rebellion from Akuma).
As for the game itself, I was impressed. This is definitely Nitrome's greatest game. Not only was it fun (I did not encounter many of the usual problems in Nitrome games, such as repetition, slowness, and invincible enemies) but the graphics were great. The only problem, as with most Nitrome games, is the ease. I think that these games should be made a bit more difficult, perhaps by adding more levels or enemies.
I think a good amount of difficulty was present in Fat Cat, another good game. This took me about five hours to beat, which is in my opinion a good amount of time; it gets rid of boredom and leaves a lasting impact on the player so they will come again.
Final Ninja 1 was awesome! The perfect game online. Now we got Final Ninja Zero.
The gameplay is terrific just like the previous however i dont like the new music.
The previous music was perfect and the message boxes of takeshi talking to himself was very ninja like!
A bit dissapointing are the messages from the spy since they dont bring a ninja vibe to the game.
Also the background isnt as pretty as the first one.
This game could use a bit more open spaces to freely rope swing ur way through victory
however this game is still awesome
and i like how it got more difficult.
i just would've preferred it if it would be more difficult through security systems which requires stealth mode and timing instead of snipers and more difficult enemies.
And about the people that said there could only be 1 Final Ninja , they were wrong.
Takeshi is the final ninja.
However that doesnt mean that there arent any other enemies besides akuma , or in this case when it goes back to the past.
There can be as many sequals made as long as takeshi , the final ninja is in the game.
Now that I've beaten the game, I can live a normal life again...until Final Ninja 0.5 or -1 or whatever fancy name they'll find for the next one will come.
A few comments:
- Overall, the game was wonderful, frustrating at times but challenging and fun
- The graphics were improved, they looked more detailed to me
- I personally liked the music
- The variety of enemies and situations was awesome
- I wouldn't have said that the second half of the game lacked interest compared to the first one. It becomes extremely intense and makes good use of the different elements introduced before (plus quite a lot of new stuff)
- I think this is the best control ever in a platform game. Moving my little ninja is a pleasure. Perfect inertia, stealth, wall climbing and jumping and sliding, rope... All that was very appropriately NOT changed at all from the first game. It really requires a lot of dexterity to play with both hands, controlling two different objects (ninja and ninja stars)
- I really like the balance between the linearity of the levels (you pretty much now all the time what direction is the exit) and the 2-D aspects. I got a little bit lost sometimes.
- I find the game was really hard, much harder than the first one. But it feels also a lot easier (the first one took me a lot more than 2 days to complete) because I guess we all got to play a lot with the first one and know how to move our ninja well. More specifically on the difficulty:
- the regular guards are much better than in the first one. Not only do they fire more rapidly at you (ninja was running faster than the bullets in the first one), they also fire at you even if you're not at the same level as them. This surely makes the game harder but also more realistic and definitely gives a faster pace to it.
- I had a problem with level 8 or so (the first one in which you can control a green mine): I found 2 red power generators that I destroyed with the mine but I still couldn't pass the 2 doors that close if the laser detects you. I then had to sacrifice and force into the door immediately after it disappears at the end of the alarm and somehow managed to do that on both doors without dying. What should I have done better?
- Level 14 was the hardest I ever beat in a game. It took me at least an hour and I had to play it 20 or 30 times. You literally need to know the level exactly by heart to escape from the snipers (3 or 4 are after you sometimes) while dodging or killing other enemies.
Hydra, what Nitrome games do you still have to beat? I know you have two. I have to beat 4 games(Pest Control- 12 Wasps, 15 Fireflys, and 40 Mites, Nanobots- level 2, Hot Air level 7, and Pixel Pop: The first hard level).
Im having problems with level 9! I can get past the clones fine but at the end, there is that blue blocking laser thing there. where is the generator to take it out? help please!
For some reason I skipped level 18 almost comlpetely. As soon as the level started I went right back into the lift and beat the level that way. Maybe it's supposed to be like that?
And it didn't seem to hurt the boss when I crashed the mines into him.
That's a fair point I guess psychotronic.
There's a lot of experimental stuff in this new game, so we can't claim to have gotten it right everytime.
I'm very appreciative of the constructive criticism going on here.
I've got to the final boss, but I can't hurt it fast enough without getting killed, as I can't dodge while controlling the mines. Hints, anyone?
wow! great game! almost gave up on 9 though, just got past it.
just RUN! no way you can take out all those robots
phew! the levels are getting a little too long.....still, great game
To the people having problems with the snipers:
by the point where you have multiple snipers tailing you, you also usually have the opportunity to destroy them as you go. The sniper bots are machines that take up one square and will blow up with one ninja star.
I like this one a lot more than the last; I don't know if the controls seem improved or what, but it's not as frustrating to me. Still tough, though. Sometimes I wish Nitrome believed in optional difficulty levels. Very addicting anyway.
It seems pretty okay, those 'turning into a scientist disguise' really had me going, t'was fun. But the bomb took me a while to get used to. Its... Controlls are too fast, compared with Takeshi's character. And I'd really love to throw some ninja stars in those green hacked stuffy ma-giggy-thing.
The music isnt that good, unlike last time, although I tend to play without sound, anyway.
Eventually, I got really mad, because those dang scientists can apparently see me if they're looking at their notepad and I'm behind them hanging from the ceiling...
After a while I stopped the basic 'look before you leap' thing and just ran through the whole level, ignoring those moving green laser beams that just make you wanna shoot yourself. Got me through 3 levels easy. No bonus, of course, which was a shame. And a constantly red glowing screen got on my nerves.
Unless it gets better and better after the first 8 levels, this'll stay to a 4/5, if not drop lower. (Because if it recylces those scientists, but harder, like it says in the review, then dang, I quit!)
[Edit: Please be careful of your language. :) -Pam]
Cant get past 17. How do you kill the samuries?
did anyone else found this?
http://i418.photobucket.com/albums/pp266/M_Peti/Flash%20games/finalninja_0_easteregg.jpg
If not, try to find t! :p hint:
it's on level 15
I know this isn't the right page but, ...
[Edit:The page you are looking for, you will find here - and piease do not use only capitals :) Thanks, Kayleigh]
@Joe Gona
I just realized what I was thinking of when I asked about the secret levels. I was thinking of Toxic! Oh well. Haha. Thanks for the answer anyways. :D
Really really good game. I cant believe they can make a game so good that looks like ninja Mario. I hope they make a couple more games like these. These games are great! Keep up the good work.
Argh! Did in the eeeeevil dude on 13, but how the heck do I get out again? Went outside, nothing; went into the room with the sentinels, nothing. Tried to get back out again the way I came in, but there's no way to disguise myself long enough.
hey ok i have a major problem with the cyborg ninja monkey snowfox woman. i am on level 20 and i get to where she leaves and you have to blow up the generator and i manage it every time but the clone always sees me before i can knock it out ans so i always die before i can get back to where she left me. Any help?
I just beat the game! I wish it was harder though.
For those who need help on the final boss you can take out the plasma guns on the boss with ninja stars to make it easier to fly the hacking mines towards him.
This is awful: I LOVE Nitrome games, but my laptop can't deal with. Each time I try to avoid the red lasers, Takeshi jump into their lights. Is my laptop too old? I haven't got any problem with former Nitrome games, except maybe FlashCat, but this time, it's too heavy to handle. :'(
Awesome game, but in the middle of some plays, Takeshi starts running in one direction and doesn't respond to keypresses
The last level feels quite rewarding. Can anyone shed light on the various ratings there are - I was swiss cheese
Someone PLEASE post a walkthrough for level 17, I can't make it through! Thanks :)
Wow, a whole thread full of Nitrome employees.
How do I know you're Nitrome employees?
Because you profess to have gotten past the level 7 snipers, which OBVIOUSLY is completely impossible unless there is some sort of cheat or backdoor...
Geez, I'd love to play some of these supposedly wonderful Nitrome games I keep hearing about, but all I ever find on their page are ridiculously impossible repeat-fests that make you hate yourself and scream in rage within fifteen minutes...
Level 7 in my opinion, is by far the easiest level in the single digit levels. I swear that I am not a Nitrome employee. You are obviously not putting your mind to it.
Oh and btw, I beat Pixel Pop yesterday, leaving me with three games more to beat now on Nitrome. Final Ninja Zero is my favorite Nitrome game and the original is my second favorite. My third is Dirk Valentine. That could change when DV 2 comes out.
just don't like this one as much as the first, too much sneaking, hiding and disguising, less balls out action then the first one. Also, each villian took a lot more damage, when hurt the action.
Aghh level 14 is so hard *gives evil death stare to sniper/crosshairs* plz ANYONE post a walkthrough!! Are there any shortcuts or cheats to skip it? And how the heck do you get rid of the crosshairs?
Some things you guys might find a little interesting - I looked up the Japanese names on Google Translator:
Takeshi - "brave"
Akuma - "Satan"
Boshi - "thumb" (yeah, I dunno either)
Taki - "kindling" (??)
Any other names (Japanese names, mind you) that I've missed, do reply and tell me.
sniper levels are much easier if you kill the robot snipers...
Okay, I admit it. I missed the opportunity to kill the 1st sniper.
It might help if they didn't look exactly like the generic scenery. Still.
Now I have some sort of bug with the scientist on Level 9. He won't flee, just keeps running back & forth in the same spot no matter what I do.
Good job, guys.
I've gotten to level 20, and so far I'd say this is one of my all time favorite games. It can be really frustrating though, I must have done level 20 around 15 times, and I still can't do it. (I found a glitch on level 19)
The elevator that brings you to level 19 stays there. You can just reboard it and go on to level 20.
This is a really fun game. Nitrome has some of the best platform games online. Anyways, I'm definitely stuck on level thirteen. I've gotten to the scientist with the crazy hair in the room with all the mines but what do I do then? Where is the exit and where is the machine I break to kill the blue wall next to the crazy scientist? I can't find it ANYWHERE. Maybe it's just because I'm too worried about getting somewhere before my disguise melts??
gobsmacked - Which clone scientist do you mean? Maybe you need to play Level 8 and continue on to Level 9, rather than going directly to Level 9. Not sure if this will help, though - I'm no Nitrome employee or conputer genius.
Lindsey, you have to shoot at the scientist three times and he'll die. The scientist will die and the blue gate will open. The rest is super easy!
Hey sorry to annoy everyone again - where are the sniper-bots in Level 14? As in their exact locations...I manage to kill about two or three and I suddenly have three more tailing me :-(
Never mind - I finally beat it (Level 14, that is). Thanks so much to bobsmole for giving me the tip about the sniper machines.
My god, I love being able to hack into the green mines - and how they never die! Absolutely brilliant.
The hardest level was the cyber samurai's return. But I still finished the game. It was too easy.
This has got to be one of the most fun and interesting games I've played. RIDICULOUSLY frustrating at times but always thrilling and engrossing.
I liked this heaps better than the first Final Ninja, and the graphics were better.
My favourite enemies have got to be those darned snipers. On the sniper levels I was always on the edge of my seat squealing 'aaahhh!!' while I controlled my little ninja man Takeshi. I always paused the game and patted myself on the back whenever I finally destroyed one of the sniper machines. It helped. :)
To be honest, although the concept of the CYBORG NINJA MONKEYS was just... well, frankly awesome - I didn't really like them that much. They were pretty boring. Mind you, I envied Snowfox. I wanted that simian suit!!
All in all, I really enjoyed this new Nitrome game. They've really outdone themselves. Kept me hooked!
However, I'm extremely interested in those messages. I mean the ones other than Snowfox's.
I remember at one point that I took a different path in a particularly hard level in a desperate attempt to get away from the lasers and mines, and I ended up in an outside area, where I received a transmission from one clone to another about the fact that the clones were exhibiting emotions?
It's killing me, because I don't know what level it was on!!
Does anyone have a list of the Final Ninja Zero messages?
For level 17 where the samurai return:
Here's my strategy. At the beginning of the level, go get the two messages if you want the bonus, then climb up the wall to your left until you get to a bunch of platforms with more samurai on them. Swing from these platforms and make your way over to the right until you've latched onto a platform that is closest to the electric part. Then you can swing back and forth from there and eventually let go when swinging towards the right, your momentum carrying you over most of the samurai at that part of the level. :)
Okay, WTH is up with Level 17 now, eh?
Literally shoulder-to-shoulder samurai below a ceiling that's too high to rope to directly, and patrolled by flying laser-bots ON OPPOSITE PATTERNS SO THERE'S NEVER A CLEAR SPACE EVEN FOR A SECOND when you can get to it.
So, that's guaranteed death above and guaranteed death below. How is this supposed to be fun again? Or even possible, for that matter?
level 10 walkthrough please!
Ok, I passed level 10, but now need help on level 11.
Okay, that was run number 30+ on Level 19, and I'm officially done with this game. 18 was even worse, being completely impossible from second one. The game would be 110% unfinishable if not for the elevator bug.
Nitrome, I'm thiiiiis close to being done with your product entirely, honestly. What's fun about making it completely impossible to proceed?
Memorize every step you make, taking five to ten or fifteen tries to get through an insane obstacle course. Then die because you've gotten to part of the level you haven't been to yet. Repeat.
None of the tasks / obstacles in this entire game are avoidable / beatable unless you've SEEN THEM BEFORE. Fail. Fail, fail fail. Ragequit. Thanks for ruining my week.
Sometimes people are just bad at a certain game gobsmacked. If other people arn't having the same problem, it might not be the games fault.
Take some deep breaths and maybe go for a walk, AND stop playing a game you clearly don't like ;)
How do you get out of level 14?
It's a maze! I get to kill about 3 sniper bots. but when I try to get to the lift, I just can't find the way!!! Wierd because I know where bouts the lift is because when you swing on the first platform, go all the way down and on the left you will find the elevator! But there's a wall in the way so you can't get at it! Help!
Hi, I am on level 14 and the snipers are hard to avoid with all the running and darting! Can anyone please tell me the location of the sniper machines? It would be much easier to get rid of them than running away from them.
I would really appreciate the help. Thanks!
I finally beat this game and level 18 without using the elevator cheat! I've also finished the original final ninja game!
I found level 18 to be really fun actually. You can easily evade the white enemies by stealthing and moving only when they are going in the other direction. And the generator part was easy too!
You guys should really go give level 18 a try instead of using the elevator.
Does anyone know how to get ALL the money on level 20? It seems to be impossible to do without going through those orange lasers.
HELP!
I need a walkthrough for level 6 because I can't take out the last turret without dieing quickly
@ JIGuest,
the first sniper is near the part with two wall mounted guns. it is near the one that fires from the ceiling.
another sniper bot is at the bottom level, near the SWAT guy at the left side.
the third sniper is also on the bottom level, but go all the way to the right, near some grey pipes and below another SWAT guy.
To complete the level 18 there is a easier way!
When you will start the level 18 just go back to the lift[from where you came!]
And Done!
You completed level 18!
Yes, you can complete level 18 that way. However, you will miss out on the great cash bonus from collecting the 94 money bags scattered at the generator part.
I need a walkthrough on level 9, especially because i don't know how to activate the disguise thign.
Ricky, this is how you activate the disguise:
First of all, collect the purple orb. Then, when the first clone is facing right, shoot him. Then activate stealth when you are directly on him, and you will be disguised as a clone scientist for 20 seconds.
Whaaaa! Level 19 is SO HARD! And way to long.
*sob*
I find this game too easy. I played through this in a few hours, they need to make these a bit harder...
Anyone having trouble with the snipers
there are boxes that have litghts on the side, those are snipers! shoot them to take out the snipers, then no more snper problems from them!
OH MY GOSH!!! This is nitromes first non-family-friendly game! on level 17 where you get the message about how maxwell is using the takeshis boss's men againest him, there is the four letter D word, cant believe this when i saw it, nitromes going down the tube anymore
Just noticing no one seems to be wondering where the last 5 enemies are on level 22. I have been searching for ages.
@funlerz
Actually, you are unfortunately wrong. At one of the starting levels in Dirk Valentine, they say that exact same word in a message from your commander or whoever he is. Please keep the profanity to a minimum Nitrome!
How are you suppose to get all the cash in level 20, its impossible
Hey, do you know what is after this:
Dodge rating:
Just a flesh wound
Cash rating:
Minimum wage
Hunt rating:
Old testament
MSG rating:
Pedantic
I finish 18 The right way, collected all of the money, then walked right into one of the green mines
mianbego:
Each one describes how you did.
If you got "minimum wage" for cash rating, then you got very little of the money wads.
Those of the four lowest ratings.
So, you beat the game but your score was poor.
sorry i dont know if those are the lowest ratings, but you got lowest for cash. it all reflects on how well you did
You can press pause during a level to get a list of what you've collected so far.
Old testament is a fairly good kill score. However, if you get absolutely everything in a category...
Does anybody have a hint on level 19?
Oh, and I have a way to win level ten.
You just swing on the yellow sign on to the platform with all the enemies and quickly get off the ledge to the left and then go right until you get to the other side and jump (not into the lasers)and fire a ninja star into the highest yellow block and zip up that and land and finally just fire at everybody evil.
Hope That explained it.
Oops really sorry that's for final ninja 1.
Gobsmacked's post on April 15, 2009:
We're not Nitrome employees! And, yes, Level 7 IS possible, I've beat it. It's just you being stupid.
I don't have a problem with the controls and this is the only game on Nitrome I ever really used WASD. Its challenging but I'm on the last level which is the boss! Its so fun its like Nitrome should be a video gaming company that would top anyone's legend like Atari in the 1980s!
Freak'in awesome!!!!!
How do you do level 11? I can't do it. Help.
Checkpoints?????
I'm stuck at level 8, but can't find a way to pass. Please help me pass the level. Thanks agradeseria
How hard is it to set adjustable difficulty levels? I loved Final Ninja, couldn't finish it because it was just too damned hard. A lot of people are saying the same thing about this one. And yet a few chuckleheads are saying "too easy, can you make it harder?".
Games are supposed to be fun. If players end up finding them impossible to succeed at and give up in frustration, then the game is a fail no matter how otherwise well-designed it is.
Platformers are inherently frustrating in the first place, and when they're as difficult as Nitrome tends to make them, they just become sadistic.
i need help on 13 like the part where you get to the lazers and if you trip them then like a BUNCH of mine bomb thingys come down.... yeah that part :D help pleasse
Help on level 19! I cant get past the electric floors!
