The adoring circus-goers await his every bruise and bump.

The Peacekeeper Peace! Houh! What is it good for? Well, something apparently, as the various factions of Berzerk Studio's new defense shooter, The Peacekeeper, want it, and are willing to slaughter everything in their path to get it. A visceral burst of just-mindless-enough entertainment, The Peacekeeper is a bloody and hilarious good time, if a little repetitive in the endgame

Dusty Revenge Dusty is out for revenge. You can tell because it says so right in the title! Dusty Revenge is a wild west-themed action game from PD Design Studio that effortlessly blends a sidescrolling brawler (think Castle Crashers) with a simple platform game, turning the whole genre mix on its head by dumping in a lot of guns and artwork that would make even Shank blush. It can be a bit over the top on occasion with its cheesy story and quick combat tactics, but the overall tone keeps you interested in beating up enemies until your lengthy bunny ears are soaked in blood.

Ittle Dew Brash, sassy, and punchy, Ittle Dew and her friend Tippsie want just one thing... adventure, and lots of it! Fortunately the island she's stranded on has that in spades, along with challenging puzzles, humour, and weight-lifting cacti. Battle Cry Break out your inner tactician to rumble in Berzerk Studio's latest strategy game! Though your army battles automatically, behind the scenes you have an enormous amount to do, since everything from equipment to formation and character race can turn the tide of battle for better or worse. Play in single-player campaigns, or create an army to participate in ranked multiplayer battles, making it the perfect choice for a few skirmishes each day.

Escape Challenge This multiple level escape stands out because it's not a simple "clear the stage" game with many doors yet few puzzles. Each well-appointed room invites exploration, handling clues with finesse so it is challenging without being frustrating. You finish with a sense of accomplishment, making this a mobile game that is as satisfying to your brain as it is to your eyes.

Off to Work We Go Bart Bonte delivers a short, surreal adventure game about a mysterious factory... well, maybe not that mysterious given what greets you. But though you might find this little title, made for the No Future Contest, a bit too simple and more of an interactive movie than anything, it's worth the few minutes it'll take you for a chuckle.

Frank'n'Slime Being a slime...thing...can't be easy. Especially if you're trapped in a series of tests and belittled by your creator. In this puzzle platformer, use your jumping, pushing, and gravity changing skills to escape and show that mad scientist what-for!

3 Blind Mice: A Remediation Game for Improper Children Ever since the Behavioral Act of 1923, the government's had a little more freedom to enforce... certain things. Have you done well in school? Have you behaved? If so, you've got nothing to worry about. If not, you may end up in a house stuffed to the gills with surveillance equipment, forced to play 3 Blind Mice: A Remediation Game for Improper Children. Made by Seemingly Pointless, it's more an experience than a game... but if you like creepy situations or dystopian settings, it delivers both very well.

Lift In this escape-the-room game from noprops (also known as Mygames888), you find yourself in a familiar situation: locked in a room in which you must solve puzzles until you reach the exit and make you way out. Yet there is also something different, more surreal, that makes Lift stand out from most games you're used to. For this reason, it's not to be missed.

The Ruins of Machi Itcza A retro metroidvania platformer by MNWS, The Ruins of Machi Itcza will have you feeling like Pitfall Harry. The purely exploration gameplay is tempered a bit by slow character movement, but overall, the game captures the archaeological feel of rediscovering something ancient and mysterious.

Icarus Needs Icarus is stuck in a dream world and needs: to wake up, to find kit, a key... and anything else that will help him navigate from one end of this narrative adventure to the next. The true joy of playing, though, comes in exploring Daniel Merlin Goodbrey's witty comic strip—story and gameplay work seamlessly together and that's all we need to enjoy it!

Tiny Thief Gorgeous, funny, and packed with wickedly devious levels, this is one iOS/Android game you won't want to put down. Play as an itty-bitty thief and his ferret companion as you point-and-click your way through beautifully designed stages and chapters, each with their own unique story and setup, to rob from the buttheads and give to yourself... or those who need it more.

Oknytt Oknytt from Nemoria Entertainment is a old school-styled adventure game steeped in Swedish folklore. You play as a small unnamed creature who wakes to find itself inhabiting an unfamiliar world. By helping it solve a few puzzles and explore its surroundings, you and the small creature will slowly gain an understanding of its place in life. It's a beautiful, touching tale that's told at a gentle pace by a narrator who will make you feel like you're listening to a story sitting around the campfire with nowhere to go and nothing to do but become entranced.

Treasure Bear A bear falls asleep in a fruit crate and finds himself in a dungeon in Slime Prince's castle. The bear teams up with a treasure chest and they go on a slime-destroying, treasure-hunting adventure. If that's not bizarre enough, wait till you see them bouncing off a huge pig roast amidst a pile of broken plates.

Mermaid Swamp A simple road trip becomes a nightmare when four friends are stranded in a strange mansion by a swamp, and things start going... wrong. Could it be the mermaid's curse? Gun Monkeys From Size Five Games, the team behind Ben There, Dan That! and Time Gentlemen, Please!, comes a game that's pretty much nothing like those games. Gun Monkeys is a multiplayer arcade arena shooter that pits monkeys against each other as they fight over energy cubes. It's about as ridiculous as a premise as you can have for a video game, but it's also very well-balanced and easy to get into, especially if you start up a "friendly" competition with a couple of friends.

Escape from the Similar Rooms 4 Hottategoya has mastered the miniescape quite well by giving a threefold of puzzles to solve all wrapped up with stylish presentation. Explore a series of very sameish rooms, climbing the stairs until you reached a locked door, then breaking the code that opens it. Do that three times and you'll be out before you know it. The easier challenges make this game perfect for beginners or for anyone who has a hankering for an escape but only a moment to spare.

BRICK[bricksmash]SMASH BRICK[bricksmash]SMASH is a bunch of tiny Breakout clones within a Breakout clone: each time your ball hits a brick, it spawns a tiny ball inside the brick it hits. Once each brick runs out of tiny bricks, it disappears and the balls inside the brick are set free. Don't try this with real bricks or you'll end up warping reality. (Try it on the computer instead, and you make a rainbow!)

Cube World (alpha) Though still in its Alpha stage, this indie exploration-based action RPG is coming for your free time in a big way. Create a character and journey through endless randomly generated worlds filled with monsters, crafting, pets, and much more. A steep system requirement yields beautiful visuals, and the casual controls mean this is that much more fun with a group of your best friends along for the ride. You'll need them when the alpacas attack.

Omino Do you know how many shapes you can make with six or more squares? A lot, that's how many. Omino may seem like a simple Tetris clone at first, but its mechanic of making the pieces larger instead of making them fall faster as you level up adds a refreshing spin. Oh, and there are powerups.

Rotational Sick of doing well in the games you play? Tired of not cursing in anger every 5.08 seconds? Rotational is here to help. The quick-fire arcade game from Kevin Messman is a sort of 3D homage to Terry Cavanagh's Super Hexagon. Instead of a nice and "easy" flat surface to slide around, Rotational sticks you in a series of shrinking colored boxes with only one way to escape. Rotate the screen so you pop through the open end, then immediately rotate everything again so you'll survive the next layer of box shrinkage. Oh, and, try not to breathe or blink or anything.

Pathologic Pathologic is a surprisingly sane minimalistic game in which you must find your way through a maze made up of squares, collecting circles as you go, without stepping on the same square twice. With fifty ever more complex levels, this is a Snake-like bundle of frustration and fun which will satisfy your daily need for puzzly goodness.

Kalaquli R You wake up in an unfamiliar room... What happened? Clearly, ninjas have struck you over the head and now hold you captive as they guard every possible exit and you must search around the ninja house seeking out clues, tools and weapons to procure your freedom in this lively escape-the-room mobile game from 58 Works.

Ending On the surface, this puzzle game is simple. Easy, even. You move in turns through small, carefully designed levels trying to avoid or eliminate enemies on your way to the exit. But before long, the new varieties of obstacles and tight level design will force you to think ahead in strategic fashion, making this one elegantly simple game that can challenge you with the best of them.

Tic-Tac-Toe-Ception You've probably already spotted the icon next to this blurb and thought, "Xs and Os in a grid? Must be Tic Tac Toe... But why haven't they played in the middle square? That's an easy win for both players!" That's true, however it might not be the best strategy in Tic-Tac-Toe-Ception, where the square you make your move in on one grid determines the grid your opponent plays in on a larger meta-grid. A simple game of three-in-a-row just got a whole lot harder!

Blue Toad Murder Files: A Touch of Mystery One part puzzle solving, one part snarky story, and one part riddles, Relentless Software's Blue Toad Murder Files: A Touch of Mystery is what you would get if you combined the Professor Layton series with You Don't Know Jack. Sounds like strange bedfellows for sure, but Blue Toad's wild narration and sense of humor keep the whodunit theme light and enjoyable while popping you from one mystery to the next. All without a single reference to Murder, She Wrote!

Monkey GO Happy - The Castle An evil scientist has turned a batch of baby monkeys into gargoyles because... because... because SCIENCE, okay? Search for all fifteen of them and try to find a way to change them back in this short but cute point-and-click adventure from Robin Vencel!

It's a wide-eyed stroll through your own sense of curiosity, handing you a ship and a solar system to explore led only by your inquiring mind. Maybe you'll mount an expedition to that strange looking watery planet you just passed? Maybe you'll land on an uninhabited chunk of rock and discover ruins beneath the surface? Or what's inside that comet, you wonder? Whatever you do, there's plenty to capture your imagination in this game, and you'll play it for hours just to see what you can uncover next.

Maximus Maximus is the sidescrolling beat-em-up iOS device owners have always wanted. Taking pages from brawlers like Golden Axe and Castle Crashers, this humorous take on the genre from Mooff Games does the nearly impossible by making touch screen controls actually work for an action game. Sounds crazy, right? It's not, and after spending some time with Maximus beating things up and gaining a few levels, you'll probably want to hunt up the Mooff Games folks and be all like "Are you a wizard?".

Totally Tiny Arcade Show a video virus who's king of the button-mashers in Totally Tiny Arcade, by Joe Lesko's Flea Circus Games. A fun rapid-fire remix of retro gaming re-creations, parodies, facsimiles and new concepts, Totally Tiny Arcade may be too fast-paced for some, but it's a smart work that makes the most of its premise.

Vortex Point 2: Nensha Something weird is happening with photos in Vortex Point, and the masked man who shows up in them is the least of the town's concerns when the people in them start going missing. Though short and somewhat unintuitive, this point-and-click adventure from Carmel Games has a clever premise and a few freaky ideas that make it a fun break-sized game.

Samurai Shodown II Samurai Shodown II isn't a game you'd expect to see on a mobile device. Virtual controls for a fighting game originally released 20 years ago? Doesn't sound like the most promising combination. But publisher DotEmu has gone to great lengths to make things work, handing you completely customizable button layouts and sizes as well as built-in MOGA controller support so you play without hindrance. A slidey touch screen may not have the give of a good arcade joystick, but it gets the job done!

Comic Book Cody When Cody's comic book collection is stolen by a gang of thieves, he sets out to get it back and discovers that gathering them unlocks super powers of his own! Despite some unimaginative level design and repetition, this platformer offers a great premise and a ton of personality that make it an easy choice for younger gamers-in-training!

Ninjas Never Die Take some ordinary circular mazes, decorate them with gold coins, spiders and swinging flails, add a ball-shaped ninja and you get a nice physics puzzle game. Your goal is to get all the coins and then roll out of one maze and into the next, shooting and sneaking your way past dangerous adversaries. And remember: Ninjas never die.

Layton Brothers: Mystery Room Layton Brothers: Mystery Room is a crime solving mystery game from Level-5, the team behind the well-known Professor Layton series on Nintendo DS. While this incarnation may only bear passing ties to the prof's previous adventures, it's still a solid adventure game that will remind you of Phoenix Wright in some ways. Which is a good thing!

King's Ascent King's Ascent is a vertical-scrolling action platform game that shows life on the throne is always uncertain, especially when giant skeleton beasts are chasing you up the tower. Gameplay is generally familiar, but the plotting has a deconstructive edge that should separate it from the pack.

Reverse Boots The last time magic footwear solved anything, all they did was help a young girl get home to Kansas. The shoes in Denis Vasilev's new platformer game Reverse Boots are a bit more utilitarian than that: every time you jump, you change your environment. It gets mindbending very quickly, even if the shoes don't sparkle.

Toca Builders Toca Builders is a sandbox creativity toy created by the team at Toca Boca. Instead of giving you boring drawing tools or other cold, removed contraptions, this adorable game hands you half a dozen robots who each have different abilities. By driving them around, switching between them and using their skills to place and remove blocks, you can construct just about anything you can dream up!

Light-bot (mobile) The little programmable robot is back, and this time it's mobile! Light-bot is a logic-based puzzle game that's been kicking around the browser scene for a few years in the form of Light-Bot and Light-Bot 2.0. Now the game has made the jump to Android and iOS, bringing with it several dozen new levels that will challenge your ability to program robots to light up blocks. That makes it sound a bit easy, but it isn't, we promise!

Curse of the Aztecs Created by four students over seven months, this action horror adventure game thrusts you into the shoes of a disgruntled academic hot on the heels of his competitor and determined to prove the legends are a lie. Despite winding up as more of an action/arcade horror experience as you flee while searching for treasure, Curse of the Aztecs randomises its scares and uses high production values for a fun and freaky expedition of your own.

King of Bees in Fantasy Land King of Bees in Fantasy Land, a Twine adventure game by Brendan Patrick Hennesy, hails to an earlier time of gaming plotting; one where "all your base are belong to us". Thought there's not much action to speak of, this little choose-your-own-adventure tale of a Space Knight taking on the Evil King of Bees in the year 2888 is a quick, smart, piece of video game comedy.

Agricola Fed up with the current crop of farming games and their incessant cheeriness? Agricola brings you back to reality like stepping in a pile of fresh manure. Playdek's mobile conversion of Uwe Rosenberg's classic strategy board game has the same pleasant exterior as numerous Facebook farm-'em-ups, but its cuddly graphics and music will do little to soothe your aching brain as you struggle to keep your peasants from starvation. Fun? It sure is.

Swap It Et 3 If you have a few minutes to waste, and you're in the mood for something colourful and relaxing, look no further! What it wants to do is let you kick back and enjoy some colourful, almost plushy gears and a bunch of well-made puzzles.

Rocket Pets Rocket Pets isn't quite a launch game. And it isn't quite a platformer. Somehow, Jay Armstrong and Jimp have combined the two genres, added some cute fuzzy animals wearing jetpacks, and thrown in some spikes for good measure, and the result is a ridiculously cute game where you go around collecting coins, buying upgrades, and earning achievements.

Make your way to the exit in each stage by manipulating light and shadow to remove obstacles or change your environment to provide safe passage.

Daymare Cat You're lost, but don't be afraid. With Mateusz Skutnik to lead you, you know the journey is always going to be great... even if it's juuuust a little creepy. Go on a puzzle platforming adventure in search of music and a way home in this stunning game set in the Daymare world.

House of 1000 Doors: Serpent Flame Things are getting serious. Kate is once again dropped into the House of 1000 Doors, only this time she'll have to save the entire Earth. Nagas, those grumpy hissing meanies, have sent a bunch of huge snakes to destroy the world as we know it. Kate has to assemble five elements to power the only weapon that can defeat them, and to do so she must – you guessed it – go through a bunch of doors.

Flowerville Flowerville is a simple, charming sort of platform game where you play as Goffredo the famous gardener. He has the ability to make flowers come to life just by walking in front of them, which normally isn't that handy of a skill. When all of the flowers in Flowerville start dying, though, the queen summons Goffredo immediately. It's time to put on your gardening gloves and get to work.

Lethal Dose In Lethal Dose, the new interactive movie by DonkeyWoman, you play the part of a femme very fatale, carrying out assassinations against whatever poor sap has crossed someone rich enough to make them disappear. But when demons from her past begin to resurface, the choice of targets will soon end up being hers alone. Aesthetically amazing, though heavy on the quick time events.

Forever Lost: Episode 2 "Do the thing you fear most and the death of fear is certain." Creepy music? Concrete walls? Perspicacious quotes? Yes, your adventures in the asylum are nowhere near over in Glitch Games' latest adventure, Forever Lost: Episode 2. Last year's breakout point-and-click escape hit is back to continue the story, featuring more twists, chills, and lots of classic adventuring fun.
