Naturally, that involved hacking off his limbs, replacing his legs with a pogo stick and his arms with chainsaws. Now that the gorilla has escaped, you get to guide him to freedom!

Improving its UI and crafting system while adding new worlds and creatures to contend with, this sequel to 2012's hit Motherload-esque mining simulation takes you to all new alien planets as you control a lost robot scrounging for supplies to repair and upgrade himself in a wide variety of ways.

Two creatures find themselves trapped and separated below ground following a cave in, and must use some unique abilities, plus good old fashioned reflexes, to avoid the mechanical monstrosities and reunite. Mike Inel's puzzle platformer might be a bit slow for its focus on running and jumping, but throw in some clever mechanics and a gorgeous presentation, and you have a charmer that will reward the patient.

Calling it "The Labyrinth of Keys" is a bit of a misnomer. Perhaps it would better be called "The Labyrinth of One Key". After all, you only get one key, and you've got to use it wisely if you want to have any hope of escaping in Matthew Rodriguez's action-puzzle-platformer game of the same name.

Winnose is a surreal puzzle game by Todd Luke and Calum Bowen, where you are a creature trying to find its other half. Any other description more specific than that would be nothing more than base speculation. Somewhat akin to a feverish dream, Winnose is as enjoyable as it is goofy and unique.

What started as a crazy student project has grown into a crazy indie game. Octodad: Dadliest Catch by Young Horses continues the mad premise first showcased in the 2010 tech demo, adding a storyline and loads of new environments to stumble around in. What should be a series of ordinary tasks end up being wacky hijinks in the world of Octodad. Think of it as QWOP in a 3D world and you've got a good idea for just how mad this game can be.

As the last of a powerful nation, it's up to you to ensure you bloodline and build an empire to stand against the dark force. With great visuals and more than decent length, this is one awesome explosion-filled, unlimited-ammo old school arcade shooter.

A bread delivery goes wrong when you accidentally upset a cosmic beast that curses you and the world into bizarre upheaval! Rotate, blast, split, and puzzle your way through this creative and challenging platformer!

Watching TV is for suckers. Participating is where it's at, especially when it's a lethal live TV gameshow filled with some of the strangest challenges around. Though a better puzzle game than a platformer, Above Average Guy still has clever ideas and style to burn.

You've got more than nine lives and you're going to need them in this punishing platformer. Use jet-packs, teleporters, gravity switches and much, much more to overcome fiendish and deadly hazards in your journey to save the world. I think you can do it, even if the narrator is... less than encouraging.

Arrows, fireballs, glacial winds, and the unholy tortured spirits of the undead are at your disposal in this addictive and gorgeous but oh-so-grindy shooter defense game. Stave off waves of invading monsters and make use of extensive spells and upgrade trees... and a blacksmith on a turtle, because why not.

It's just you against an endless tide of sword-and-bow-wielding enemies in this simple but stylish little arcade game, so try to take as many of them out as you can before they take you out! More variety would have really made this one shine, but as it stands, it's still an interesting twist on a very simple formula.

Holding the esteemed title of World's Most Determined Motorbike Stuntman, Joe finds himself shrunk down and racing through a series of tiny worlds packed with things to jump over, duck under, crash through and pick up. With a extra helping of collectibles to unlock, Joe Danger Infinity distills the formula presented by its predecessor into a still finer example of arcade racing bliss.

Good news: you now have the entire space station to yourself. Bad news: that's only if you don't count an endless supply of zombies. Jimp and Jay Armstrong serve up a fun and chaotic, if repetitive, zombie arena shooter with a fantastic design.

In this simple arcade action RPG, you'll charge through five levels of enemies, nabbing all the coin they drop and using it to upgrade your equipment. Though definitely short and nearly TOO simple, great visuals and simple fun still make it addictive while it lasts.

In this short puzzle shooter made for Ludum Dare, you're told that the markings on the ground will guide the way, but you've still got to figure out how to use them while navigating a maze of deadly turrets and monsters.

A creative "cover" mechanic sets it apart from the rest of the endless runners in the crowd, making it both a strong contender in the mobile race and a suitable follow-up to the Strike Force series, too!

A nostalgic retro run-and-gun platform shooter by Sinclair Strange that hearkens to the 8-bit era, Alien Splatter may not entirely live up to the challenge of NES classics like Contra and Ninja Gaiden, but it's a pixelated good time.

In most roguelikes, grinding levels is the answer, but in Hopoo Games' brutally difficult action game, the longer you wait, the harder things get. When your cargo ship crashes on a hostile alien planet, you're left with no choice but to fight your way through the local wildlife and massive monsters, unlocking new characters and items along the way, if you want to survive.

Though it starts off slow, this platforming puzzle is full of surprises and unexpectedly touching to boot, as you play a jetpack-toting old man gathering up photographic memories of his past and going on one last grand adventure.

Limbless and kneeless, Rayman is still a surprisingly good sprinter. The release of Rayman Fiesta Run, a direct follow-up to Rayman Jungle Run, puts our star in a series of worlds littered with coins, lums and traps, all waiting to be conquered with a series of well-timed jumps. An endless runner at its core, Rayman Fiest Run has all the markings of an addictive platform game, complete with scores to perfect, secrets to uncover, and loads of gorgeous artwork to drink in.

In this fast-paced stunning metroidvania indie action adventure, the fight against a demonic army takes you beneath the waves when your ship is sunk and you find yourself in a mysterious underwater world caught between two opposing forces. Though somewhat hard to pick up and not without its flaws, it's still an engaging, gorgeous combat-centric game fans of the genre should check out.

Leap astride a tiny pony and ride into battle against a massive aerial assault force in this bizarre but fun shooter. Though initially slow to start and a little repetitive, it's unexpectedly charming and filled with upgrades and action.

Blink and you'll miss it, but this painfully short action adventure game by a talented indie studio is still worth checking out. Play as a young girl who wakes up in a surreal nightmare realm and must rely only on a strange voice, and a magical camera that can manipulate reality, to see her through to the end.

It's tough to be a worm on a fishing hook. It's a bit easier when you have firearms, though. Bait and Switch is an underwater shooter in which a courageous red-headband-wearing worm fights for his right not to be eaten by particularly voracious fish. With lots of upgrades and types of enemies, silly graphics and solid mechanics, it's probably the most fun you can get out of simulated fishing.

Seething Swarm's darkly adorable and adorably dark hallucination afflicted lapine protagonist is back for more platforming action in Acid Bunny: Episode 2. Though admittedly, it's incredibly similar to the previous installment, that just means the slightly-offensive fun can continue unabated. Please be aware that this game contains material some might find disturbing, including drug use and suicide.

Gather round, people, and witness the all new adventures of the world's only ninja miner! His incredible skills allow him to run faster than lightning, collecting gems and stars on his way. Now, in Ninja Miner 2, he will also slay nefarious creatures with his trusty blade and perform fantastic underwater stunts in thirty-two amazing new levels!

Wonderland Adventures: Planet of the Z-Bots marks the third in the main series of puzzle adventure games from developer Midnight Synergy. It arrives several years after the previous installment, Mysteries of Fire Island, but because it's such a large and well-built game, it's an easy delay to forgive. Planet of the Z-Bots captures every bit of magic and charm from the other releases, only now there's a lot more of it!

It may LOOK like an "idyllic cottage weekend simulator", but this clever twist on a puzzle game is anything but. You'll have to figure out some way to survive the weekend using the limited tools around you, but beware... gruesomeness and red herrings abound.

Though short, this latest installment in the physics platformer series is just as enjoyable as the rest, with many new elements like lasers and bombs to go along with its new industrial setting.

Infinity Blade III from Chair Entertainment concludes the trilogy of combat games with some serious style. It keeps the nigh-on perfect basic formula the same, introducing a few bonuses, tweaking some inventory and item features, and dropping on a whole host of new foes to face off against. It's big, bad, and oh so pretty to look at, making Infinity Blade III feel like a full-fledged PC game packed into your iPhone.

Earth Taken is an action platformer by SeethingSwarm that casts you as the desperate measures that the desperate needs of an alien menace require. It's a mishmash of run-and-gun and survival horror tropes, but an entertaining one, with some very cool (and toxic looking) environmental design.

Up for a challenge? Defend towers of squishy innocents against hordes of incoming zombies by swapping elevators full of unique, upgradeable soldiers between floors. Despite a severe difficulty curve that makes it a challenge not everyone will appreciate, its great style and clever enemy types make it stand out from the pack.

Go West, my son. Wait... East, EAST! Lucas Molina present a simple yet simply addictive arcade game with RPG trappings as you control a brave hero speeding East through monsters and other pitfalls, earning experience and coin for upgrades along the way. Throw in some lovely pixel style and a great soundtrack, and you have the perfect casual action game to fill a little spare time.

OrangePixel has done it again! The studio known for its nigh-on perfect retro recreations has crafted a top-down arcade RPG similar to the old Gauntlet series. Heroes of Loot puts you in the shoes of an adventurer fighting his way through dungeon floor after dungeon floor, dispatching enemies and grabbing loot left and right. It's just the sort of pick up and play experience that works well on mobile devices, and you'll find yourself quickly hooked by its creative blend of action and RPG elements.

By strategically tossing toast you can move around the screen to position yourself for the next attack. Above all, keep that alarm clock safe until time runs out!

Fight the Cathode Raybots, or join their cause in this over-the-top action shooter by Tom Fulp and the Newgrounds crew. Overwhelming surface flashiness hides an excellent boss-battle creation engine, that those in the community have used to great cleverness.

They say there's a safehouse on the other side of the city, but between you and it is an entire city full of zombies. In this vertical scrolling action game, play as one of two heroes and bash, blast, and even drive your way through stages filled with unique objectives, earning skills and upgrades. Though suffering from slow movement and grinding, Bloodbath Avenue is still a fun throwback to classic arcade games.

But you won't be prepared for the horrifying truth and the effects the mountain has had on its inmates. Turns out in a great battle, the kingdom was destroyed and all its people carted off to dungeons, and only you can save them.

Pursued by a killer as you search for the artifacts you need to pay homage to a deity who will destroy him, you have to listen, run, and hide to stay alive in this freakish nightmare of a game made in just fourteen days. Though rough around the edges, its surreal style and great production values make it a fun time with the lights down and the sound up.
