Coolson's Artisanal Chocolate Alphabet In a situation that hits a little too close to home for some of us, Coolson's Artisanal Chocolate Alphabet from Things Made Out Of Other Things is a word game based in a chocolate factory starring an out of work English major desperate for a job. You manage to get a position at Coolson's factory packing boxes with letter-embossed chocolates. But since dropping squares into slots isn't all that exciting (and since you want to put that fancy degree to use), you decide to make things more difficult/entertaining for yourself. Instead of filling boxes, now you're writing words!

Element4l It's tough to be a little element. You're at the mercy of every current of wind and lava flow on the block. Fortunately for the four elements in Element4l, they're bound together as a single entity and can switch as easily as you or I eat a whole bar of chocolate (i.e. instantly). This soothing but challenging arcade game from I-Illusions puts you in charge of those transformations, utilizing them as efficiently as you can in order to move through each stage safely.

100 Dreams The newest "100" room escape game (well, I say newest; another 30 have probably just popped up in the time its taken to write this) is 100 Dreams by Daisuke Suzuki, the maker of the excellent Kagi Nochi Tobira. The format should be secondhand by now: Each stage presents you with the simple task of opening a door under increasingly complex and puzzling circumstances.

Four Scepters Puzzle meets roguelike in this challenging little retro game created for Ludum Dare's minimalism theme. The Happy Escape 5 When out on a stroll through the park, you come across a relaxing-looking cafe and decide to have a little repast. In the ordinary world, you'd order some food, eat and go. This is Tesshi-e's world, though, and you're inside an escape cafe. Now you have to search around for clues and useful items, solve puzzles and gather up ten happy coins before you can get the heart-shaped key and unlock the exit door. Only then can you have a nice treat to fill your tummy before you leave. That's the Tesshi-e brand of fun which we know and love!

Gnomeland Security Gnomes, gnomes everywhere! Popping out of the ground, asking you to plant mushrooms around them. Why? Because they can. Don't mess with gnomes. Anyway, the numbers on their hats tell you how many mushrooms you're supposed to plant, and mushrooms send out rays of light, so you can't plant one on another's light path. With two gameplay modes, three difficulties and a number of board sizes, Gnomeland Security is a puzzly bundle of fun.

Leaf Me Alone The scores have been tabulated and the results are in: the overall winner of the minimalism-themed Ludum Dare 26 72-hour Game Jam is Leaf Me Alone, a retro Metroidvania-style platformer by Mark Foster and David Fenn. Now, "minimalism" and "Metroidvania" aren't two words that usually go together, but Foster and Fenn has put together a wonderful little world for a pixelated-blob-type-thing to explore, if one that could use a little more direction from time to time.
